    摘要: Printers and methods for operating a printer are provided. One method comprises receiving a print order associated with image data for use in printing a plurality images; converting the image data into actions to print the plurality of images on a receiver medium with print adjacent areas between the printed images, the converting being performed in accordance with printer settings; printing a first set of color patches in the print adjacent areas when the each of the first set of calibration color patches can be printed in the print adjacent areas; printing a second set of color patches in the print adjacent areas when each of the first set of color patches cannot be printed in the print adjacent areas; and sensing the color of each printed color patch and recalibrating the printer settings based upon the sensed colors.

    摘要: The present invention provides a macromolecular switch (51) suitable for use in a data acquisition and/or processing device. The switch comprises a macromolecular structure (10) having an ion binding site (14), and is flippable between a plurality of discretely different conformations corresponding to different ion binding conditions at the ion binding site (14). The macromolecular structure (10) is provided with at least one electrochemical input device (43) for applying such different ion binding conditions to the ion binding site (14) in response to corresponding external input signals. The invention also provides a method for data acquisition and/or processing, using a macromolecular structure switch of the invention.

Each programmable means has a signal transmitting and receiving means (32) associated with it for transmitting and receiving control signals over the communication medium (26), with the programmable means (28) of one of the electrical devices (22) being programmed as a controller for the other electrical device(s) (24). Preferably the controller is provided via an electrical appliance which Includes a data entry facility (44) for its programmable means (28) and the programmable means (28) is programmed both to operate the electrical appliance as such (42-38), and to provide the controller functions (36) for the security system (20).
