摘要: A rotating stream nozzle is provided particularly for use as an irrigation sprinkler, wherein the nozzle provides a plurality of outwardly directed and discrete water streams which are rotated in steps through a prescribed arcuate spray path. The rotating stream nozzle is adapted for mounting onto a water supply conduit and includes a swirl plate through which water under pressure flows with a swirling action into a relatively small drive chamber. The swirling water flow forces a drive ball within the drive chamber to move into repetitious impact engagement with raised anvils formed on the inner diameter surface of a cylindrical rotor lining the drive chamber and mounted for rotation within a nozzle cap. The rotor is displaced through a small rotational step each time the drive ball strikes one of the anvils, and the water is discharged from the nozzle as discrete rotating streams passing through small discharge ports in the rotor. An open window in the nozzle cap permits outward projection of some of the water streams within the prescribed arcuate path.

摘要: An improved rotary drive sprinkler is provided for rotatably driving a pop-up spray head in a stepwise manner through a full-circle or reversibly within a selected part-circle path. The sprinkler includes a reversing trip mechanism having a pair of spaced-apart stops rotatable with the spray head and defining preset end limits of a part-circle path, wherein a stationary trip wire is engageable with the stops to switch an internal rotary drive assembly, such as a ball drive assembly, between forward- and reverse-drive operation. The trip wire flexes to accommodate forced spray head rotation to a maladjusted position beyond the end limits and, upon subsequent sprinkler operation, rides over ramped surfaces on the stops for automatic return to reversible operation between the preset end limits. Alternatively, the stops can be set in side-by-side relation with their ramped surfaces oriented for the trip wire to ride resiliently thereover without switching of the rotary drive assembly. Positional adjustment of the stops is performed quickly and easily from the exterior of the sprinkler after which a vandal-resistant lock device can be installed to prevent inadvertent or unauthorized stop adjustment. In addition, flow of irrigation water through the sprinkler is regulated to obtain improved control over spray head rotational speed irrespective of water pressure and spray head nozzle size.

摘要: The pop-up irrigation sprinkler includes a pressure reducing valve, a spring-biased, pop-up riser, and a valve seal of unitary construction adjacent to the lower end of the riser having a valve body, a valve plug at the lower end of the valve body sealing the inlet port while the riser is in the retracted position, and a channel within the valve plug that is in fluid communication with the upper end of the valve body. The pressure reducing valve has a flow tube mounted for limited movement within the riser and lower port of the flow tube. The lower port of the flow tube is normally open when the riser is in the extended, operative position a pressure. The normally open lower port is urged against the upper surface of the valve plug when by a surge of pressurized water. A washer is provided in the lower end of the valve plug for sealing the inlet port from inflow and outflow of water from the sprinkler while the riser is in the retracted position.

摘要: A collapsible portable framework is expanded to an open position forming a long, narrow, column-like structure for a folding display frame, in which generally rectangular frame-like cubicles are aligned serially and are pivotally joined at common ends of the cubicles. Each cubicle has hubs at its corners pivotally joined to ends of rigid rods interconnected at pivot points forming a pair of scissor members along opposite sides of each cubicle. End braces releasably interlock as a rigid box frame to support the ends of the scissor members and the hubs at the corners of the cubicles in rigid spaced-apart positions. A diagonal cross-brace extends from a lower front corner to an upper rear corner of each cubicle, and another diagonal cross-brace extends from an upper front corner to a rear lower corner of each cubicle. Disconnection of the end brace members permits the frame to be collapsed by folding the scissor members so the cubicles are collapsed into a compact side-by-side form. Preferred end support members comprise a pair of rigid U-frames affixed to corresponding hubs at the ends of the cubicle so that base portions of each U are movable adjacent to one another. A pin and socket affixed to the base portions of the adjacent U-frames are interlocked to hold the U-frames in a rigid supporting position at each end of the cubicles and are released to pivot the U-frame away from one another during folding of the scissor members to the compact form of the frame structure.

摘要: An improved rotary drive sprinkler is provided for rotatably driving a pop-up spray head in a stepwise manner through a full-circle or reversibly within a selected part-circle path.
