摘要: A first roller has a first roller center line; a second roller has a second roller center line. Fluid-ejection mechanisms eject fluid onto the media as the media is rolled past the rollers, and include first mechanisms and second mechanisms. The first mechanisms include first and second printheads, at least substantially equally between which a first positioning line is defined. The second mechanisms include third and fourth printheads, at least substantially equally between which a second positioning line is defined. The fluid-ejection mechanisms are disposed opposite to the roller and are positioned such that the first and second positioning lines are located between the first and second roller center lines, the first and the third printheads are not completely located between the first and the second roller center lines, and the second and the fourth printheads are completely located between the first and the second roller center lines.

摘要: A embodiment of a stand includes a base, a support, and a biasing member. The biasing member provides a biasing force to urge the support to a first position relative to the base from a second position relative to the base. When in the second position the support is allowed to rotate on a pivot, and when in the first position the support is prevented from rotating on the pivot.

摘要: A circuit is disclosed for detecting and eliminating the buildup of snow and/or ice on the viewable face of an LED traffic signal lens. The circuit measures the ambient temperature within the LED signal, and when the temperature falls to a level where snow and/or ice accumulation can occur, the circuit begins looking for snow and/or ice buildup on the lens of the LED signal. An infrared LED transmits a signal which is reflected when snow or ice is present on the lens of the traffic signal. When the reflected signal is received by an infrared receiver, it sends a signal to a microcontroller, which analyzes the signal to determine if it is a valid signal. If it is, a heater is turned on until the ice and snow are removed.

摘要: The pneumatically operated projectile launching device is preferably comprised of three principal elements: a body which houses and interconnects all of the pneumatic components and also houses the electrical power source, a grip mounted to the body which includes an electrical switch that activates a launching sequence, and an electrical control unit housed within both the body and the grip which directs flow between the pneumatic components to load, cock and fire the gun. The body preferably contains a plurality of bores in communication with each other including a bore containing and distributing pressurized gas, a bore containing a compressed gas storage chamber and mechanisms for filling the storage chamber with gas and releasing gas from the storage chamber to fire the projectile, and a bore containing mechanisms for loading and launching the projectile. The electrical control unit preferably includes an electrical power source which activates an electrical timing circuit when the electrical switch is closed, and two electrically operated pneumatic flow distribution devices which are sequentially energized by the electrical timing circuit to enable the loading of a projectile for launching and to release compressed gas from the storage chamber to fire the projectile, respectively. Before the initiation of a launching sequence the compressed gas storage chamber is filled with compressed gas while the projectile launching mechanism is disabled. Filling of the compressed gas storage chamber is preferably accomplished automatically by actuation of the compressed gas filling mechanism. When the electrical switch is closed to initiate the launching sequence the projectile is first loaded into the launching mechanism by electrical timing circuit actuation of the first electrically operated pneumatic flow distribution device. The projectile is then fired when the electrical circuit actuates the second electrically operated pneumatic flow distribution device to release gas from the compressed gas storage chamber into the launching mechanism.

摘要: A fan assembly includes a vibration damping system to reduce induced vibrational energy generated as a result of fan motor operation. The vibration damping system includes a plurality of arms and damping material. The vibration damping system arms extend between a fan motor housing and a shroud assembly disposed circumferentially outward from the fan motor housing. The damping material is attached to an end of each of the vibration damping system arms and connects each arm to the shroud assembly. The damping material absorbs induced vibrational energy generated by fan motor operation.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for encoding an image signal. The apparatus includes an acquisition module disposed to receive the image signal. A first processor is coupled to the acquisition module. At least one encoder processor is coupled to the first processor. The at least one encoder processor produces an encoded image signal under control of the first processor. The method includes the steps of converting an input image signal into a predetermined digital format and transferring the digital format image signal to at least one encoder processor. The method further includes the step of applying, at the at least one encoder processor, a hierarchical vector quantization compression algorithm to the digitized image signal. At the next step, a resultant encoded bit stream generated by the application of the algorithm is collected. The method and apparatus of the present invention may be used in conjunction with an ordinary modem to transmit and/or receive audio, video sequences or still images.

摘要: A container for holding liquid in its interior includes an aperture which provides access to the interior of the container. A valve has an open position and a closed position, is mounted in the aperture and mates with an actuator when the container is inserted into a print mechanism. The actuator causes the valve to transition from the closed position to an open position and vice-versa. A seal member is rotatably mounted in the aperture and includes a pathway for receiving the actuator. The pathway is normally positioned nonaligned with the aperture so as to render the valve non-accessable from outside the container. A control mechanism is coupled to the seal member and rotatably moves the seal member to reposition the pathway into alignment with the aperture so as to be in position to receive the actuator. The control mechanism is actuated when the container is inserted into the print mechanism.
