摘要: A method for automatically calibrating a controller (44) for a controllable damping system (40), for example, the suspension and damping system for a truck seat or cab, includes the steps of receiving a initiation signal that is checked against criteria to ensure that calibration is actually intended. The seat (20) or other body (ex. a vehicle cab) is then moved to a first limit position, where a sensor (50, 50') reads a position signal, and to a second limit position, where another position signal is read. Preferably, a midpoint, or neutral position is calculated from the measured position signals, and the seat (20) or other body is moved to this neutral position. A range of movement is determined from the first and second position signals. Preferably, end stop limits are calculated as predetermined fractions of the range of movement value. All values are stored for use by the controllable damper system (40).

摘要: A valve assembly for mixing hot and cold water includes a rotable non-reciprocal valve member positioned therein to control the mixture of hot and cold water in the outlet stream. The valve member has a hollow stem tube having hot and cold inlet and outlet ports which are rotably engageable with the hot and cold inlets and outlets of the sleeve. The stem tube includes at least one wear plate receiving area for receiving at least one wear plate. The wear plate is in fluid communication with at least one of the stem tube hot and cold water inlet and outlet ports. The valve assembly may further include a stem driver which is attached to the stem tube to control rotational movement of the stem tube and a sleeve which receives the stem tube.

摘要: A valve assembly for mixing hot and cold water includes a generally cylindrical sleeve having hot and cold inlets and outlets and a rotatable non-reciprocal valve member positioned therein to control the mixture of hot and cold water in the outlet stream. The valve member has a hollow stem tube having hot and cold inlet and outlet ports which are rotatably engageable with the hot and cold inlets and outlets of the sleeve. The sleeve hot water outlet is generally larger than the sleeve cold water outlet. The sleeve and stem tube inlets and outlets are not limited to a particular shape and/or geometry. The fluid engagement between the sleeve hot and cold water outlets and the stem tube hot and cold water outlets provides a large mixed water temperature range.

摘要: A faucet mounting system for positioning and supporting a faucet valve body and a rotatable faucet receptor on a sink deck includes a stand. The valve body is mounted in the stand above the sink deck and there is a bearing member which supports the stand on the sink deck. The receptor is rotatable about the stand and has a faucet wand support portion and there is a hose extending through the receptor and faucet wand support portion. The stand has a vertical wall which is at least in part discontinuous for passage of the hose. An upper portion of the stand vertical wall interlocks the stand and the valve body and there is a shelf on the inside of the vertical wall which supports the valve body above the sink deck.

A coil assembly (48) creates a magnetic field within a pole piece (32), which is preferably manufactured from a powdered metal material, which preferably has a density of between about 6.8 and 7.0 gm/cm. A magnetically-soft medium is contained within first and second gaps (86, 88) located between pole piece (32) and rotor (28). In one aspect, a magnetic saturation zone (25) reduces the propensity of magnetizing the shaft (30). In another, the pole halves (24, 26) are received in radially-spaced pole pockets (37) formed in the housing (22) and include an axial bias spring (70) to ensure intimate contact. In another aspect, a lip projection (76) traps fluid (23) between the lip projection (76) and shaft (30) and minimizes fluid exposure to the shaft seal (44). In another aspect, cooling fins (55) or a projection (53) restrains rotation of the housing (22). In another aspect, a spring (46) centers the rotor (28) relative to the housing (22).

摘要: A faucet includes a valve body having inlet conduits and an outlet. There is a valve control element within the valve body to control flow from the inlet conduits to the outlet. A vacuum breaker hub is mounted on the valve body and forms a chamber with the exterior of the valve body. The valve body outlet opens into the chamber. There is a vacuum breaker system on the hub which includes a plurality of openings in the hub communicating with the chamber. There is a flexible valve element on the inside of the hub which normally closes the openings. There are ribs within the chamber, extending inwardly from the hub which ribs are on opposite sides of the vacuum breaker openings to preclude the flow of fluid from the valve body outlet to the area of the chamber about the flexible valve element.
