    摘要： In one aspect of the invention, a degradation assembly comprises a holder. The holder is attached to a driving mechanism and comprises a longitudinal central bore. A pick comprises a body intermediate a shank and an impact tip, and the shank is disposed in the central bore of the holder. The impact tip comprises an impact surface diamond or cubic boron nitride. At least one rolling element is disposed intermediate an inner bore surface and the shank, and is adapted for low-friction rotation with respect to both the inner bore surface and the shank.

    摘要： In one aspect of the present invention, a pick assembly is configured that comprises a pick shank configured to be press fit directly within a bore of a block. The pick shank comprises an inside and outside surface. The pick comprises a pick head opposite the shank. The shank comprises at least one longitudinal recess extending towards the pick head along the shank from a distal end of the shank. The recess allows the shank to resiliently collapse upon insertion into the bore while maintaining a press fit between the bore and the shank.

A plurality of sensors may also be disposed within the platform such that they can measure impacts on at least one of the picks. The sensors may be in communication with a processor. The degradation assembly may be capable of detecting and determining the location of a selected pick measuring impacts on at least one pick with at least one sensor, detecting a variation on the at least one pick with the at least one sensor, and determining a location of the at least one pick with more than one of the sensors.

    摘要： In one aspect of the present invention, a high impact resistant tool has a superhard material bonded to a cemented metal carbide substrate at a non-planar interface. The cemented metal carbide substrate is bonded to a front end of a cemented metal carbide segment. A stem formed in the base end of the carbide segment opposite the front end is press fit into a bore of a steel body. The steel body is rotationally fixed to a drum adapted to rotate about its axis.

    摘要： A high impact resistant tool includes a superhard material bonded to a cemented metal carbide substrate at a non-planar interface. The superhard material has a substantially pointed geometry with a sharp apex having a radius of curvature of 0.050 to 0.125 inches. The superhard material also has a thickness of 0.100 to 0.500 inches from the apex to a central region of the cemented metal carbide substrate. The diamond material comprises a 1 to 5 percent concentration of binding agents by weight.

    摘要： In one aspect of the invention, a degradation pick comprises a bolster disposed intermediate a shank and an impact tip. The shank comprises an outer diameter and first and second ends. The shank is coupled to the bolster through the first end and the second end is adapted for insertion into a central bore of a holder attached to a driving mechanism. The shank comprises a hollow portion disposed within the outer diameter and between the first and second ends. The hollow portion may comprise an opening that is disposed in the second end. In some embodiments the hollow portion may comprise a length that is at least as great as the outer diameter.
