摘要： An audio file format is provided, which includes definitions for one or more instruments, and definitions for one or more notes, that are associated with one or more vibrational element groupings, where each vibrational element grouping includes one or more vibration sources. Received commands present in the audio file, and associated with a note and an instrument definition, are compared to determine if the associated note and instrument definitions correspond to one of the one or more vibrational element groupings. If the associated instrument definition corresponds to a vibrational element grouping, then the commands are mapped to corresponding vibrational effects, and the actuation of the one or more vibration sources of the respective vibrational element grouping is controlled. If the associated instrument definition of the received command corresponds to an audio instrument, then an audible output is controlled in accordance with the received command.

摘要： A device (300) having a user interface (303) is provided with an automatic discretionary capability of determining use of a wireless message. The wireless message may contain user interface preference information that is initially sourced by an end user platform. The device uses the automatic discretionary capability to determine whether and to what extent to use the user interface preference information to influence control of the user interface (303). The device (300) may contain a wireless receiver (302) for receiving the wireless messages with a memory (304) for storing the user interface preference information therein. Also provided in the device (300) is a processor (301) which provides and uses the automatic discretionary capability to determine to what extent to use the user interface preference information to influence control of the user interface (303). The automatic discretionary capability of the device (300) may override, accept, or weight the user interface preference information.

摘要： A method is provided for encoding device independent multi-modal content including an arrangement comprising one or more of a plurality of tokens, where each token corresponds to a standard predefined effect. The method includes defining a token for one or more standard predefined effects, wherein the token is adapted for being mapped to one or more effect producing elements in a target device. One or more tokens are then composed for playback together as an arrangement.
