    摘要: An aft frame and a method for cooling an aft frame are disclosed. In one embodiment, an aft frame for a transition piece in a combustor is disclosed. The combustor includes the transition piece and an impingement sleeve at least partially defining a flow path therebetween. The aft frame includes a body and a generally radially extending cooling passage defined in the body, the cooling passage comprising a first end configured to accept a coolant. The aft frame further includes an exhaust passage defined in the body, the exhaust passage including a first end in communication with the cooling passage and a second end configured for communication with the flow path for flowing the coolant therethrough.

    摘要: Systems and methods for controlling compressor extraction air flows from a compressor of a turbine system during engine turn down are provided. In one embodiment, a method for controlling compressor extraction air flows from a compressor of a turbine system during turn down includes a control unit monitoring one or more operating parameters of a turbine system associated with an exit temperature of a combustor of the turbine system. The method further includes the control unit detecting one or more operating parameters meeting or exceeding a threshold associated with a decrease in the exit temperature of the combustor. In response to detecting one or more operating parameter meeting or exceeding the threshold, a control signal is transmitted to at least one variable orifice located in the turbine system causing at least one variable orifice to alter at least one extraction air flow from the compressor.

    摘要: A steam gland includes a steam inlet scroll and an extraction scroll axially spaced from one another defining high and low pressure regions. A seal body is disposed between the regions and includes a pair of brush seals axially spaced from one another. Intermediate the brush seals is a honeycomb seal. The hybrid brush seal/honeycomb seal combination minimizes steam leakage between the high and low pressure regions and eliminates the possibility of heat induced damage to the rotor while optimizing seal leakage performance.

    摘要: A ventilation scheme for a rotary machine supported on pedestals within an enclosure having a roof, end walls and side walls with the machine arranged parallel to the side walls, includes ventilation air inlets located in a first end wall of the enclosure; a barrier wall located within the enclosure, proximate the first end wall to thereby create a plenum chamber. The barrier wall is constructed to provide a substantially annular gap between the barrier wall and a casing of the turbine to thereby direct ventilation air axially along the turbine; one or more ventilation air outlets located proximate a second, opposite end wall on the roof of the enclosure. In addition, one or more fans are provided for pulling ventilating air into said plenum chamber via the ventilation air inlets.
