摘要: The present invention is a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of copolymer particles comprising structural units of a) an acrylate monomer; b) an acid monomer; and c) a siloxane-acrylate monomer of formula I: where R, R1, R2, Y and x are defined herein. The composition, which also comprises a nonionic and anionic surfactant as described herein, is useful in a variety of applications ranging from architectural coatings to personal care products.

摘要: The present invention relates to a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of acrylate-siloxane copolymer particles comprising structural units of an acrylate monomer; an acid monomer; and a siloxane acrylate monomer of formula I: where R, R1, R2, Y and x are as defined herein. The composition has a high solids content, a low concentration of siloxane acrylate monomer and low coagulum levels. The composition is useful for forming coatings with improved hydrophobicity, stain resistance, and aesthetic/haptic properties compared with conventional all-acrylic compositions.

摘要: A polymer blend is provided comprising: (A) multistage polymer, comprising: acrylate rich stage comprising: structural units of monoethylenically unsaturated non-ionic, acrylate rich stage monomer selected from C1-22 alkyl (meth)acrylates and mixtures thereof; and carbosiloxane rich stage, comprising: structural units of carbosiloxane monomer of formula (I); and (B) silicone-grafted vinyl copolymer, wherein the silicone-grafted vinyl copolymer, comprises: structural units of a vinyl (B) monomer; and structural units of a carbosiloxane dendrimer of formula (V). Also provided are personal care formulations comprising the polymer blend.

摘要: A method can selectively prepare a compound of formula (IV), where each R1 and each R2 are independently selected from an alkyl group, an aryl group, a halogenated alkyl group, or a halogenated aryl group of 6 to 10 carbon atoms each R3 is an alkane-diyl group, and each R4 is hydrogen or an alkyl group. The method involves hydrosilylation of an organohydrogensiloxane oligomer with a carboxylic acid alkenyl ester using an iridium complex catalyst.
