    摘要: An angular adjustment mechanism for a surgical instrument is described. The mechanism comprises an adjustment member (102) configured for rotation about a longitudinal axis (122), the adjustment member comprising a plurality of pairs of facets (134) arranged about the longitudinal axis. Each of the plurality of pairs of facets defines a respective angled axis (148B,148C) at an angle (150B,150C) relative to the longitudinal axis. A pivoting member (104) is arranged to pivot about a pivot axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and comprises a recess (128) for receiving the adjustment member and engaging one pair of the plurality of pairs of facets. This provides an angular adjustment mechanism in which facets on the outside of the adjustment member engage corresponding surfaces in a recess on a pivoting member. The use of facets provides a secure connection while allowing a greater degree of angular adjustment and providing a further benefit of simple operation.

A first material is injected into a first mould to form an interim component. Portions of the interim component define at least one channel. The maximum wall thickness of the interim component is less than a first threshold determined by the injection moulding properties of the first material. The maximum width of the at least one channel is less than a second threshold determined by the injection moulding properties of a second material. The second material is injected into a second mould containing at least part of the channel of the interim component so that the channel is at least partially filled with the second material.

    摘要: A multi-function impactor for use with an orthopaedic implant, such as a knee joint, is described. The head of the impactor has a pair of curved recesses for mating with condylar parts of a femoral implant and flat faces for mating with a tibial implant. An extended formation is also provided for use with the inter-condylar notch of the femoral implant. A v-shaped notch in the extended formation is also provided to impact a tibial insert. The impactor can be made from a single moulded plastics part.
