Abstract: An apparatus for exposing a bulk volume of particles, such as free-flowing or semi-flowable grains, ore, or powders, or a non-flowing mass such as sewage or wet-chopped bio-mass so all of the particles receive near-uniform exposure to a radio frequency (RF) electric and/or magnet (EM) field, preferably without any preference of exposure to a surface or side of particulate. The invention relates to an antenna that can be metallic or plasma for transmitting RF EM radiation into a mechanical mechanism used to convey, or preferably to mix a bulk volume of particles. Embodiments of the apparatus include the ability to adjust the level of EM radiation comprised of one or more frequencies between 30 Hz and 30 EHz to regulate either or both the magnitude of temperature rise and the rate of temperature rise, or to regulate either or both the magnitude of chemical reaction, or rate of reaction.

Abstract: A medium (24 and 124) made up of fossil fuel hydrocarbons (304) is heated by maintaining at least a portion or area of the medium (334) in an alternating current electrical field (36 and 136) provided by a radio frequency signal at a radio frequency that matches a Debye resonance frequency or frequencies of one or more components of the medium (334). As the medium (334), or as at least one individual component of the medium (334) increases in temperature, the frequency of the radio frequency signal is automatically adjusted to track changes in the Debye resonance frequency, which shifts in frequency as the temperature rises. Portions, areas and/or individual chemical compositions of the medium (334) can be heated, by the use of grid electrodes (22, 22, 120, 124), at different rates to assure uniform temperature increases or to achieve a particular desired warming pattern.

Abstract: A hydrocarbon bearing formation (304) which is heated using a variable frequency capacitive radio frequency dielectric heating (334) in situ process. Hydrocarbons or other substances natural to a hydrocarbonaceous formation may be produced by heating specific chemical compositions with or without the use of a carrier medium (320) in a subterranean reservoir. Hydrocarbons or other substances natural to a hydrocarbonaceous formation are heated by maintaining specific chemical compositions in an alternating current electrical field generated by a radio frequency signal. As the targeted chemical compositions increase in temperature, maximum energy is delivered using variable frequency radio frequency dielectric heating to adjust the rate of the heating process.

Abstract: A practical method of manufacturing, assembling, and constructing a single silo or building or a cluster of polygonal storage silos using a column comprising horizontally-arrayed structural column panels. Column panels within a top horizontal array vertically aligning with column panels of a next lower horizontal array such that no discernible gap exists between top and bottom edges of column panels within the column. seams, where top and bottom edges of column panels meet, preferably occur in different horizontal planes from each other throughout the column, thereby creating a stagger or offset of column components in relationship to each other. Multiple layers of column components with the same, similar, or different configurations can be added to preferably cover seams of underlying column components to enhance structural integrity. A structure built with these columns can be constructed using a cost-effective and relatively safe method of lifting. In addition, three or more of these structural columns can be connected together with wall panels or beams to fashion a polygonal compartment or multiple polygonal compartments, to serve as structural support for heavy loads, as a process tower for supporting equipment, a multi-story building for human occupancy (such as an apartment complex), or as bulk storage silo(s). The column can join standard and customized beams and wall panels. The column can extend above a structure to support a tower or another level, or it can extend below to serve as a support column for the entire structure. Columns can be attached to wall panels of round structures, to serve as stiffeners, or to the sides of polygonal structures, to serve as side-wall supports.

Abstract: A conveying system for distributing material into any bin in a horizontal array of storage bins comprises a circular guide positioned over the array of bins (24), a linear guide (22) that rotates along the circular guide, and a conveyor (30) that is supported by the linear guide. By rotating the linear guide and attached conveyor along the circular guide and by shuttling the conveyor linearly, the conveyor has an infinite number of discharge points to fill any one of the underlying array of bins.
