    Abstract: A cleaner head for a vacuum cleaning appliance includes a housing which defines a suction chamber. The suction chamber has a suction inlet through which air enters the suction chamber, and a suction port through which air exits the suction chamber. The cleaner head includes a plurality of casters for supporting the cleaner head. Each caster is rotatable relative to the housing about a first axis which is perpendicular to the suction inlet. Each caster is also rotatable relative to the housing about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis.

    Abstract: A vacuum cleaner has a removable cyclonic separator that includes a cyclone chamber; a dirt-collection chamber, open at one end; and an outlet duct from the cyclone chamber. An open end of the outlet duct is arranged for connection to a motor intake duct on the cleaner, the outlet duct and dirt collection chamber sharing a common wall section which divides the open end of the outlet duct from the open end of the dirt collection chamber. A cover closes off the open end of the dirt collection chamber and can be opened to allow access to the dirt collection chamber for emptying. When the cover is in the closed position, a cover sealing member forms an air seal between the cover and the common wall section. When the outlet duct is connected to the motor inlet duct, an outlet duct sealing member forms an air seal between the ducts.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a cleaner head for a vacuum cleaner. The cleaner head has a housing and a soleplate assembly hingedly connected to the housing. The soleplate assembly and the housing are held closed by a releasable catch, which is pivotally mounted to one of the housing or the soleplate for rotation between a locking position and a release position. In accordance with the invention, the catch incorporates a first cam, which cam engages the other of the soleplate or the housing as the catch is rotated from the locking position towards the release position, in order to force apart the housing and the soleplate.
