摘要： A fuse having a rated current for protecting electric or electronic circuitry comprises a body having a blow chamber. A fusible element is contained within the body and extends through the blow chamber. A contact is disposed on the body electrically connected to the fusible element for making an electrical connection between the fuse and the circuitry. The blow chamber is sealed around the fusible element so that thermal energy in the fusible element can increase within the blow chamber for causing the element to open when an elevated current is applied to the element. The blow chamber is sufficiently sealed around the element for retaining a pressure created therewithin by vaporization of a portion of the element; that pressure is sufficient to cause an arc produced by fusion of the element to extinguish. The body is of sufficient strength to contain the pressure within the blow chamber for allowing the fuse to fail gracefully. Thermal conductive cement is disposed about the entire fusible element without the blow chamber for preventing the fusible element from opening without the blow chamber before opening within the blow chamber.

The assembly includes a threaded terminal screw and a uniquely configured generally circular shaped clamping plate or tilt washer which is adapted to freely tilt relative to the undersurface of the head of the terminal screw in a manner to move gripping projections provided on the undersurface of the washer into secure clamping engagement with a wire of large diameter disposed on one side of the axial center line of the terminal screw and into secure clamping engagement with a wire of much smaller diameter disposed on the opposite side of the axial center line. The undersurface of the tilt washer is provided with several different types of uniquely configured gripping protuberances that provide multiple contact points for firmly gripping the different diameter conductor wires which are disposed on opposite sides of the terminal screw.

摘要： A tube connector comprises an integral sheet metal stamping including a body and a plurality of legs. The body has a centrally disposed securing portion for receipt of a threaded fastener and is of a substantially dished shape presenting sharp peripheral edges for aggressively engaging the interior wall of a tube to resist retrograde movement of the connector axially of said tube. The legs extend generally axially from said body adjacent the periphery thereof and have sharp longitudinal edges for aggressively engaging the interior wall of a tube to resist rotating movement within said tube upon rotating association of a threaded fastener with the centrally disposed securing portion.

摘要： A method and apparatus for making non-circular piston rings which will precisely sealably conform to the cylinder wall of an internal combustion engine. In accordance with the method of the invention a metal strip of special cross-sectional configuration is coiled about a specially configured mandrel which is non-circular in cross section. Preferably the coiling mandrel is provided with a circumferentially interrupted thread form that has a zero helix angle along most of its circumference. During the coiling operation, using this type of mandrel, the metal strip is preformed at specific locations along its length into an angled configuration to form a coil body having a plurality of coils that have a zero helix angle along most of their circumference and a relatively steep helix angle for a short distance. After the coil is formed, the helix angle portions are cut therefrom to provide a plurality of generally planer, interrupted rings.

摘要： A method for making non-circular piston rings which will precisely sealably conform to the cylinder wall of an internal combustion engine. 摘要： A fuse structure for automatically resetting fuses is in the form of a housing for enclosing a resettable fuse circuit pack. The housing comprises a plurality of identically constructed shells. A plurality of ferrule mounts is disposed on the housing, and annular indentations are disposed on the ferrule mounts. Locking surfaces are located on the shells, and ferrules are placed on the ferrule mounts. A positive stop portion is positioned on the shells, and is associated with each ferrule mount for locating the ferrules on the ferrule mounts. New fuse circuits are also provided for insertion into the fuse structure.

摘要： A one-piece fastener is disclosed for loosely retaining a transversely extending branch with respect to a horizontal support wire. The fastener is molded of resilient plastic material in form of a flexible filament portion with a clip portion integrally formed at its opposite ends. Each of the clip portions have a generally tubular body with a cylindrical-shaped throughbore formed longitudinally and with an elongate slot formed lengthwise of the tubular body in direct communication with the throughbore to define a throat for receiving the support wire into the throughbore. Each end of the filament portion is connected to one of the tubular bodies at a point adjacent to its elongate slot and adjacent to one of its ends which provides an offset relationship between the flexible filament portion and the two tubular bodies.

摘要： A transient voltage protector is provided for telephone lines and the like. An insulating plastic housing is provided with two pairs of terminals having female connections at the lower ends for association with selected terminals of a telephone terminal block. The upper ends of these terminals are of a male type and extend above the top of the housing for receipt of further elements such as bridging clips, plug-in fuse units, or line status indicators. An offset and raised portion of the housing carries a pair of zener diodes having lower wire terminals connected to two of the aforesaid terminals. The upper wire terminals of the zener diodes are connected to a grounding terminal having an upper portion extending above the housing in the form of two spaced tines for receipt of a common ground wire between the tines. The various terminals and the zener diodes and the housing have complementary structure for positioning of the terminals and the diodes within the housing. In a modification the housing has a second offset and raised portion mounting two gas diodes.
