摘要: A fuse for a high voltage/high current application, such as a hydro-electric vehicle (“HEV”) application is provided. The fuse employs a variety of arc quenching features to handle a large amount of arcing energy that is generated when such fuse is opened due to a fuse opening event. In one embodiment, an insulative substrate, such as a melamine substrate, is metallized with a fuse element. The fuse element extends to multiple surfaces of the substrate. A fuse opening portion of the element is located so that the arcing energy is forced to travel along multiple insulative planes, increasing an impedance across the opening of the element and decreasing the likelihood of a sustained arc. Also, the substrate and element are disposed in a sealed housing, which is packed in one embodiment with an arc quenching material, such as sand.

摘要: Robotic surgical tools, systems, and methods for preparing for and performing robotic surgery include a memory mounted on the tool. The memory can perform a number of functions when the tool is loaded on the tool manipulator: first, the memory can provide a signal verifying that the tool is compatible with that particular robotic system. Secondly, the tool memory may identify the tool-type to the robotic system so that the robotic system can reconfigure its programming. Thirdly, the memory of the tool may indicate tool-specific information, including measured calibration offsets indicating misalignment of the tool drive system, tool life data, or the like. This information may be stored in a read only memory (ROM), or in a nonvolatile memory which can be written to only a single time. The invention further provides improved engagement structures for coupling robotic surgical tools with manipulator structures.

摘要: A fuse component includes an electrically insulating substrate having a top surface, a thick film fuse element applied to the top surface and a cover layer. The cover layer is made of an electrically insulating material having good caloric conductivity. The cover layer can be directly applied to the thick film fuse element and the adjoining zones of the top surface of the substrate. The cover layer can contain a glass having a specific caloric conductivity of >2 W/mK. The cover layer can have a window disposed above a section of the fuse element, the section of the fuse element located within the window being at least partially covered by a solder containing layer.

摘要: An inexpensive delay-breaking fuse which assures that when an electric current having an intensity in excess of a value representing a steady-state current such as a motor lock electric current or the like flows through the delay-breaking fuse, durability of the fuse is left unchanged, a stable prearching time/current characteristic is maintained, and moreover, there does not arise a malfunction that a housing is thermally deformed or the color of the housing is changed to other one. The delay-breaking fuse includes a fuse element having a pair of female terminal portions arranged on the opposite sides thereof with an electrical conductive melting portion having a reduced width bridged therebetween with a melting/breaking part located at the intermediate position of the electrical conductive melting portion. A pair of heat radiating plates are projected upward of the upper end edge of a base plate integrated with the female terminal portions in order to radiate heat from the electrical conductive melting portion. The heat radiating plates are caused to extend from the upper end edge of the base plate while they are located adjacent to the electrical conductive melting portion.

摘要: A subminiature fuse is disclosed comprising two terminals (20, 30), two substrates (80, 90), a fusible conductor (140), an insulating coating (180), and a unitary housing (170). The unitary housing is protected from the interrupt arc by the substrates (80, 90) and the housing (170) is sealed to provide increased mechanical strength, thus reducing the risk of a catastrophic failure of the fuse. The upper portion of the fuse terminals are shaped into finger like projections (70) adaptable to mechanically holding the fusible conductor (140) and a substrate (80), thus facilitating the manufacturing process. In one embodiment the fusible conductor and adjacent portions of the terminals and substrates are coated with a insulating coating or adhesive (180). The insulating coating (180) conducts heat away from the fusible conductor (140) during normal operation. To further protect the housing in the event of a short circuit interruption, a substrate (90) is placed between the housing and the fusible conductor. The housing is sealed by ultrasonic welding or may be an insert molded plastic enclosure which is substantially devoid of air.
