Abstract: It is disclosed a winding stator with bar conductors for an electric machine. The stator comprises a stator core and a stator winding. The stator core comprises a plurality of slots extending along the axial direction of the stator core. The stator winding comprises a plurality of bar conductors connected together in series to form the stator winding. Each slot comprises a plurality of first and/or second legs of different bar conductors arranged side-by-side along a radial direction of the stator core defined by the secondary extension of the stator core. The plurality of bar conductors is arranged at the insertion side in groups comprising at least two bar conductors having the respective first legs arranged side-by-side along the radial direction of a slot and having the respective second legs arranged side-by-side along the radial direction of another slot.
