Abstract: A method and apparatus for face recognition robust to an alignment of the face comprising: estimating prior information of a facial shape from an input image cropped from an image including a face using the first deep neural network (DNN); extracting feature information of facial appearance from the input image by using a second DNN; training, by using a face image decoder based on the prior information and the feature information, the face recognition apparatus; and extracting, from a test image, facial shape-aware features in the inference step by using the trained second DNN.

Abstract: A method of recognizing an object based on mask updates is provided. The method includes generating first result information in which a foreground and background of a predetermined input image have been separated from each other, generating second result information in which the results of the object recognition within the input image and a boundary portion of the object have been matched, calculating an objective function to be applied to each mask head based on the first and second result information and parameter information for the first and second result information, updating all of the mask heads based on the objective function, and performing object recognition based on the updated mask.

Abstract: A system for generating a multimedia knowledge base uses a multimedia information detection unit to detect texted meta information from multimedia data including at least one combination of a text, a voice, an image and a video and allows a knowledge base shaping unit to use the texted meta information and context information of the multimedia data to divide the multimedia data into syntactic information representing extrinsic configuration information and semantic information representing intrinsic meaning information and may shape the syntactic information and the semantic information into the multimedia knowledge.
