Abstract: A hybrid welding power system includes: an AC/DC converter (101) to generate a rectified voltage from AC input power; a boost circuit (102) to generate a DC link voltage from the rectified voltage; an inverter (104) to generate a transformer input from the DC link voltage in accordance with a welding operation; an HF transformer (106) to receive the transformer input and generate a transformer output; a secondary rectifier (108) to rectify the transformer output to generate output welding power to be supplied to a weld output of the welding power system; and a battery power converter to couple a battery (112) to the DC link, the transformer (106), or the weld output to enable discharging of the battery (112) to the hybrid welding power system and enables charging of the battery (112) via the AC input, the DC link, the transformer (106), or the weld output in various implementations.
