摘要： A sensing circuit is useful with a power outlet and a power tool having power supplied thereto via the power outlet. The sensing circuit includes a generator, a transmitter, and a detector. A first signal having a high frequency is developed by the generator and supplied to a first terminal of the power outlet by the transmitter. The detector is coupled to the second terminal of the power outlet and tuned in accordance with the high frequency to develop a second signal indicative of whether the power tool is coupled to the power outlet. The sensing circuit may be used in conjunction with a regulating circuit and a two-position switch useful for controlling the electrical energy supplied to the power tool and a vacuum cleaner having the power outlet disposed thereon.

摘要： A regulating switch circuit for conditioning operation of a first load upon operation of a second load wherein the first load and the second load consume electrical energy from a power source includes a detecting means for detecting the operation of the second load and a sensing means for sensing an amount a parameter of the electrical energy supplied to at least one of the first and second loads exceeds a predetermined level. A load control device couples at least one of the first and second loads to the power source wherein the load control device has a control terminal. A control circuit is coupled to the control terminal of the load control device and is responsive to the sensing means and the detecting means to variably adjust the electrical energy supplied by the power source to at least one of the first and second loads to limit the parameter of the electrical energy to the predetermined level.

摘要： A vacuum cleaner is provided having a tank with an inlet for receiving liquid material and defining an interior. An air impeller housing has an opening in air flow communication with the tank interior, and an air impeller is disposed inside the air impeller housing. A motor is disposed inside a motor housing and operatively coupled to the air impeller, and a switch is provided having a first position in which power is provided to the motor and a second position in which power to the motor is interrupted. A float is disposed in the tank and a float rod extends between the tank and the switch, the float rod being capable of moving the switch from the first position to the second position. A seal is positioned intermediately along the float rod to create a water-tight barrier between opposite ends of the float rod.

摘要： A new motor assembly uses a switch module to facilitate the assembly of an electric motor. The switch module can be prefabricated, and is connected to a terminal block on the motor by plug and socket connectors on the terminal block and on a terminal end of the module. The switch module is pre-wired with a power inlet and a switch, eliminating the need for a worker on the motor assembly line to make difficult electrical connections to a traditional terminal block. The switch is arranged in a switch housing that fits within an extension on the motor housing. An interior support wall on the housing fits within a channel between the switch housing and the rest of the switch module, helping to hold the assembly in position. The power inlet is positioned laterally outward from the terminal end and laterally inward of the switch.
