Abstract:
An apparatus and method for generating olfactory information. The apparatus for generating olfactory information generates olfactory information that can be shared between a real world and at least one virtual world. The apparatus for generating olfactory information includes a sensor and a processor. The sensor recognizes a real-world odor, and acquires the original data of the result of the detection of the real-world odor. The processor acquires representative data including the evaluation of the quantitative numerical value of the real-world odor by analyzing the original data, and generates real-world olfactory information including both the original data and the representative data.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a user interface device for a projection computer and an interface method using the user interface device, which provides interaction between a user and the projection computer that outputs results by means of a projector, by using a hand and an infrared pen on the projection computer. The user interface device for a projection computer includes a projector unit for outputting results of the projection computer. A pattern light generation unit outputs infrared pattern light to a result output area to which the results are output. A camera unit obtains an image by capturing the result output area An image processing unit recognizes at least one of a user's hand and an infrared pen based on the image obtained by the camera unit. A control unit controls the pattern light generation unit, the camera unit, and the image processing unit based on a recognition mode.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a feedback providing module, a feedback providing apparatus, and a feedback providing method. The feedback providing module includes: an upper plate part generating a vibration; a lower plate part inducing the vibration of the upper plate part; and a feedback controlling unit applying first to fourth voltages having different levels to the upper and the lower plate part in response to feedback control signals and varying the levels of the first to fourth voltages to control the upper and the lower plate part to generate at least one of a sound and a vibration.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a multiple sensors-based motion input apparatus and method. The apparatus includes a transmission unit, a reception unit, a calculation unit, and a control unit. The transmission unit transmits a signal. The reception unit receives a signal that is reflected and enters therein after the signal has been transmitted by the transmission unit. The calculation unit calculates touch location information based on the transmission signal of the transmission unit and the reception signal of the reception unit. The control unit outputs a selection signal corresponding to the touch location information that is calculated by the calculation unit.
Abstract:
Provided are an electronic pen for inputting/outputting sensory information and a method for recognizing taste information and transforming the taste information into smell information using the same. The electronic pen includes: a sensory information input unit for receiving sensory information of the object; a signal processing unit for processing and storing sensory information transmitted from the sensory information input unit; a sensory information reproducing unit for outputting the sensory information; and a wireless communication unit for transmitting the sensory information.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an apparatus and method for interaction between content and an olfactory recognition device. In the method for interaction between an olfactory recognition device and a content device, the method allows the olfactory recognition device to interact with the content device. If a connection to the content device has been made to enable data communication with the content device, an open signal is transmitted to the content device. As a response to the open signal, an approval signal is received from the content device. A device information datasheet that is information about the olfactory recognition device is transmitted to the content device in response to the approval signal. An acknowledgement signal is received from the content device.
