Abstract: Disclosed is a method of assessing an upper extremity that assesses an upper extremity exercise ability of a user by providing rehabilitation content to the user who is wearing a virtual reality (VR)/augmented reality (AR)-based visual device. The method provides the rehabilitation content including four types of exercise assessment methods according to various rehabilitation scenarios through the VR/AR-based visual device the user wears and simultaneously assesses the upper extremity exercise ability of the user and a rehabilitation therapy state by recognizing a position and a shape of a hand of the user moving while the user is wearing the VR/AR-based visual device according to the provided rehabilitation content.
