摘要: A corrosion monitoring device for pipe systems according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a pipe having a first pipe portion and a second pipe portion. The first pipe portion includes a wall having a first wall thickness, and the second pipe portion includes a wall having a second wall thickness that is greater than the first wall thickness. The corrosion monitoring device further includes a structure coupled to the pipe and defining a sealed chamber between the structure and at least the first pipe portion, and a sensor for sensing a pressure in the sealed chamber or for sensing a liquid in the sealed chamber. Example corrosion monitoring devices and methods for monitoring corrosion in pipe systems are also disclosed.

摘要: A nozzle plug for a deluge fire protection system having nozzles connected with a pipe network, the nozzles having a pipe connection with a nozzle chamber and a nozzle orifice allowing for the flow of water toward a deflector for dispersal, includes a plug body configured to fit within the nozzle chamber and/or nozzle orifice and form a seal of the nozzle orifice; a deformable component connected with the plug body configured to retain the seal of the nozzle orifice up to a predetermined pressure level above atmospheric pressure within the pipe network and to deform when a current pressure with the pipe network exceeds the predetermined pressure level and release the seal of the nozzle orifice to allow for the flow of water through the nozzle orifice; and wherein the deformable component is configurable to calibrate a deformation point corresponding to the predetermined pressure level.

An inert gas source, such as a nitrogen gas source, is connected with the pipe network. Inert gas is supplied from the inert gas source to the pipe network. Water is supplied to the pipe network thereby substantially filling the pipe network with water and compressing the inert gas in the pipe network.

摘要: A fire protection system includes a dry pipe system and a controlled discharge gas vent. The dry pipe system and controlled discharge gas vent operate using a breathing cycle to displace oxygen and/or water vapor from within the piping network of the dry pipe system. The controlled gas discharge vent allows displacement of pressurized air with nitrogen, for example, using manual or automated processes that can employ one or more sensors. Corrosion resulting from oxygen, water, and/or microbial growth is reduced or nearly eliminated.
