Abstract: In an aspect, an artificial tree comprising a trunk and a series of branches extending outwardly from the trunk further comprises an olfactory-active substance. In embodiments, the olfactory-active substance is provided by use of a reservoir containing the olfactory-active substance which can be provided to at least a portion of the tree by capillary action, gravitational force, or by an electric pump. In embodiments, an olfactory-active substance is integral to the material components of the tree which have been suitably treated, coated or amalgamated with one or more olfactory-active substances.
