Abstract: An ophthalmic progressive addition lens for a presbyopic wearer which has a prescribed far vision mean refractive power a non nil prescribed addition, ADDp, the lens having a far vision reference point, a mean refractive power, PPO(α, β), a module of resulting astigmatism, ASR(α, β), a meridian line, ML(α, β), the (α, β) functions being determined in as-worn conditions of the lens by the wearer for gaze directions (α, β) joining the center of rotation of the eye, CRE, and the lens, wherein α is a lowering angle in degree and β is an azimuth angle in degree, and wherein α lens criterion, CRIT, fulfils following requirement: 0.38≤CRIT≤4.50, where: CRIT=NumeratorCRIT/DenominatorCRIT, NumeratorCRIT=(A1/A2)+(PPO(αFV, βFV)/(100·ADDp)); A1=α100%−α85%; A2=α100%−α60%; DenominatorCRIT=[(PeaksMean/ADDp)+(PPO(αFV,βFV)/(8·ADDp))]3.

Abstract: A method for evaluating an ophthalmic lens for a given wearer according to a visual performance parameter includes providing wearer's data for the given wearer. The method further includes providing a visual performance parameter tolerance range for the wearer. The method further includes providing an ophthalmic lens to be evaluated, the ophthalmic lens being characterized by opto-geometrical features. The method further includes computing a value of the visual performance parameter for the lens to be evaluated on the basis of a model. The method further includes evaluating the ophthalmic lens by comparing the computed value of the visual performance parameter with the visual performance parameter tolerance range.

Abstract: A method implemented by computer means for calculating a lens optical system of a spectacle ophthalmic lens for a wearer. The method includes providing an aberration target lens fulfilling the requirements of: a first set of aberration data of the aberration target lens, a first set of wearing parameters of the aberration target lens, and a first set of lens parameters of the aberration target lens. The method further includes providing a distortion target consisting of target distortion values where the target distortion values are reduced or enhanced in at least a modified distortions zone when compared to the distortion values of the aberration target lens, and calculating the lens optical system by using an optimization method which jointly uses the aberration target lens and the target distortion values.

Abstract: A method is provided for providing a selection chart of non-prescription ophthalmic lenses. The method comprises providing at least one optical performance parameter threshold (OPPT) associated to an optical performance parameter (OPP); choosing the selection criterion (SC) among the selection criteria of the list consisting of: lens base curve; lens pantoscopic angle; and lens wrap angle; choosing a selection criterion range (SCR) for each of the chosen selection criterion; calculating selection domains (SD) defined by sub-ranges for each of the chosen SC within the SCR so as to determine and associate in each SD a single non-prescription ophthalmic lens with a spherical front surface, a complex back surface and a lens base curve. All the chosen OPPs are equal or less to the OPPT for all values of the SC within the SD associated to the single non-prescription ophthalmic lens.
