Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes determining a received power at a receiving antenna mounted to an antenna measurement system from a transmitting antenna mounted to a device under test (DUT) in motion relative to the antenna measurement system; determining one or more first orientation parameters of the antenna measurement system; determining one or more second orientation parameters of the DUT; and determining an antenna pattern of the transmitting antenna based on the received power, the first orientation parameters, and the second orientation parameters.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems for an antenna element are disclosed. For an embodiment, the antenna element includes a feed line layer, a first substrate adjacent to the feed line layer, a ground layer adjacent to the first substrate, a second substrate adjacent to the ground layer, and a third layer adjacent to the second substrate. The feed line layer includes a conductive fork-shape that includes a conductive handle adapted to be electrically connected to a center conductor of a coaxial line, a conductive cross-section that crosses an end portion of the conductive handle, and a plurality of conductive fingers. For an embodiment, a rectangular slot is formed in the ground layer, wherein a length of the rectangular slot is perpendicular to the conductive handle. For an embodiment, the third layer includes four parasitic elements, wherein each parasitic element is electrically connected to the ground layer through a shorting via.

One apparatus includes a node, wherein the node includes a passive time-delay structure, wherein the passive time-delay structure is operative to generate a plurality of delayed signals, wherein each of the plurality of delayed signals is a delayed version of a communication signal, a tunable element, the tunable element operative to introduce a variable delay to the communication signal propagating through the passive time-delay structure, an antenna array, wherein the antenna array generates a beamforming pattern corresponding the passive time-delay structure, and a phase delay adjust control operative to adjust the tunable element of the passive time-delay structure, wherein a direction of the one or more beams of the beamforming pattern changes depending upon tuning of the tunable element.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems for beamforming to multiple users using switched passive time-delay structures are disclosed. One method includes an input switch that receives a plurality of input signals for transmission. Further, the apparatus includes a plurality of passive time-delay structures, wherein the input switch selectively connects the plurality of input signals to at least one of the plurality of passive time-delay structures, and wherein each of the passive time-delay structures is preconfigured to provide a plurality of delayed signals wherein each of the plurality of delayed signals is a delayed version of a one of the plurality of input signals. The apparatus further includes an antenna array, wherein the antenna array receives the plurality of delayed signals of the passive time-delay structures, and generates a beamforming pattern corresponding with a selected one of the passive time-delay structures.

In some embodiments, a method for transmitting wireless data between an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and a customer premise equipment (CPE) station includes transmitting a first wireless data between a first antenna array and a first CPE station and transmitting a second wireless data between a second antenna array and a second CPE station. The first and second antenna arrays can include one or more individual antennas of the UAV.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems for processing beamforming signals of a passive time-delay structure are disclosed. One apparatus includes a node that includes baseband processing circuitry that is operative to receive and processes transmission signals, a passive time-delay structure that is preconfigured to generate a plurality of output signal, an antenna array, wherein the antenna array is operative to receive and transmit the plurality of output signals of the passive time-delay structure, wherein delays of the passive time-delay structure provide for the formation of a beamforming pattern by the transmitted plurality of output signals, and a controller. The controller is operative to determine a characterization of the beamforming pattern. The baseband processing circuitry operates to process the transmission signals based at least in part on the characterization of the beamforming pattern, and the node transmits the processed transmission signals to the one or more transceivers.
