    Abstract: An ink jet composition which contains a pigment selected from the group consisting of a self-dispersing pigment and a resin-coated pigment in which at least a portion of a surface of a pigment particle is coated with a water-insoluble resin; at least one selected from the group consisting of polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinyl alcohol and polyethylene glycol, the content of which is from 0.01% by mass to less than 1.00% by mass based on the total mass of the composition; a resin particle that is insoluble or hardly soluble in water; a wax particle that is insoluble or hardly soluble in water; and water.

    Abstract: An image forming method including applying a treatment liquid; and applying a first ink containing a pigment, water, and polymer particles of with the content is 1.0 mass % to 3.0 mass %, and applying a second ink having a different hue to the first ink onto the applied first ink at an ink droplet speed of 6 m/sec to 10 m/sec to form a multi-color image, in which an interval from a landing time point of the first ink to a landing time point of the second ink is 200 msec or less, and a dot diameter φ2 of the second ink, and a dot diameter φ1 of the second ink in an ink droplet amount equal to an ink droplet amount in the forming of the multi-color image satisfy a relationship of 0.90≦φ2/φ1≦1.10.

    Abstract: An inkjet ink set including: an ink composition including water, a colorant, polymer particles having a glass transition temperature of 90° C. or higher, an organic amine and an inorganic salt; and a treatment liquid that includes an acidic compound and generates aggregation when comes into contact with the ink composition. The inkjet ink set and an image forming method using the same provide preservation stability and secured excellent jetting ability of the ink composition, and an image having image quality with suppressed formation of satellite droplets.
