Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a sterol compound capable of realizing an excellent nucleic acid delivery efficiency in a case of being used in a lipid composition, and to provide a lipid composition containing the sterol compound, which is allowed to realize an excellent nucleic acid delivery efficiency. According to the present invention, a compound represented by Formula (1) is provided. In the formula, R201 represents a cyclic hydrocarbon group which may be substituted with one or more substituents, where the substituent is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms.
R102 represents (i) a hydrogen atom, (ii) a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, which may be substituted with one or more substituents selected from OH, SH, COOH, NR106R107, N(R108)C(O)R109, or CF3, (iii) C(O)R103, or (iv) C(O)NR104R105.
