Abstract: The present invention provides a line-of-sight operation-apparatus, a method, and a medical device by which it is possible to appropriately determine whether a movement of a line-of-sight is intended by a user and to prevent the user from being forced to carry a burden. The line-of-sight operation-apparatus includes a display screen, a display control unit to display an icon having an animation-image on the display screen, a line-of-sight detection unit that detects a line-of-sight of a user, a following determination unit that determines, on the basis of a result of detection performed by the line-of-sight detection unit, whether a movement of the line-of-sight of the user follows a movement of the animation-image, and an output unit that outputs information indicating that the icon has been selected in the case where the following determination unit determines that the movement of the line-of-sight of the user follows the movement of the animation-image.

Abstract: In an endoscope system according to an embodiment of the present invention, it is not necessary to touch an actual keyboard, mouse, or button to operate an endoscope apparatus, and thus it is not necessary to shift an instrument from one hand to the other hand or peel of/put on gloves in a medical setting. Accordingly, a necessary operation can be easily performed by using a line of sight and a gesture. In addition, it is not necessary to provide a keyboard, mouse, or button for operating the endoscope apparatus, and restrictions on the arrangement of the apparatus can be reduced. Furthermore, virtual objects corresponding to an apparatus to be operated and operation details are displayed in a pseudo manner, and thus the virtual object on which an operation is to be performed can be easily determined.

Abstract: An image interpretation support apparatus includes a line-of-sight detecting unit that detects a line of sight of a person who reads the image, a gaze determining unit that determines, in accordance with a detection result obtained by the line-of-sight detecting unit, whether a candidate lesion portion in an image to be interpreted that is displayed on a display unit has been gazed at by the person who reads the image, a completion detecting unit that detects completion of image interpretation, by the person who reads the image, of the image to be interpreted that is displayed on the display unit, and a display control unit that, in a case where the completion detecting unit detects the completion of the image interpretation and the gaze determining unit determines that the candidate lesion portion has not been gazed at, switches from a first display state to a second display state.
