    Abstract: A terminal device includes a touch panel and excitation piezoelectric elements. The excitation piezoelectric elements are attached to a touch panel, and generate standing-wave vibration in the touch panel to give a user a tactile sensation when the user has performed a touch operation on the touch panel. The terminal device further includes a pressurization piezoelectric element that is attached to the inner side of the touch panel than the excitation piezoelectric elements, and pressurizes the touch panel thereby changing the vibration mode of the standing-wave vibration including the position of antinodes of the standing-wave vibration.

    Abstract: An information processing apparatus detects contact of a finger with a capacitive panel. The information processing apparatus, when the contact of the finger is detected, measures a midpoint at an equal distance from either end of a contact region where the finger is in contact with the capacitive panel, and measures a centroid of an area of the contact region. The information processing apparatus executes operation depending on a distance between the measured midpoint of the contact region and the measured centroid of the area of the contact region.

    Abstract: An electronic device includes a display part; a top panel having a manipulation surface; a coordinate detector configured to detect coordinates of a manipulation input performed on the manipulation surface; a vibrating element configured to generate a vibration at the manipulation surface; a drive controlling part configured to drive the vibrating element such that an intensity of the natural vibration changes in accordance with a position of the manipulation input performed on the manipulation surface and in accordance with a degree of time change of the position; and a housing to which the top panel is attached, wherein the top panel is fixed to the housing along an edge side of the top panel, and a first fixing force at first positions where antinodes of the natural vibration occur is smaller than a second fixing force at second positions where nodes of the natural vibration occur.
