Abstract: An optical fiber ribbon is configured by arranging in parallel and coupling a plurality of single-core optical fibers. The optical fibers adjacent to each other are intermittently bonded by coupling parts at predetermined intervals in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber ribbon. The coupling parts adjacent to each other in the width direction are disposed to be displaced from each other in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber ribbon. In the optical fiber ribbon, the adjacent optical fibers are intermittently coupled by the coupling parts in the longitudinal direction, and the amounts of resin of the coupling parts are not uniform in the longitudinal direction of the optical fibers. Moreover, the Young's modulus of resin constituting the coupling part is preferably 130 MPa or less, and more preferably 80 MPa or less.

Abstract: A jacket is provided to the outer circumference of a cable core, a rip cord, and a tension member. The cable core, the rip cord, and the tension member are collectively covered by the jacket. A wrapping tape is longitudinally placed on the outer circumference of a core part so as to be wound therearound. Thus, immediately after the wrapping tape is longitudinally placed and wound, a wrap part thereof is formed so as to lie substantially straight in the axial direction of an optical fiber cable. In contrast, in an optical fiber cable, the cable core is obtained by combining and intertwining the core part and the wrapping tape. Because of this configuration, the wrap part of the wrapping tape is helically disposed in the longitudinal direction.

Abstract: An optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of colored single fibers that are arranged side by side, and the adjacent single fibers are coupled by coupling resin. The single fibers are disposed leaving a gap between the single fibers. The adjacent single fibers are bonded to each other intermittently by coupling parts at predetermined intervals in a longitudinal direction. That is, the coupling parts between the adjacent single fibers are disposed intermittently with regard to the longitudinal direction of the single fibers. The coupling parts are formed of opaque coupling resin. A haze value of the coupling resin according to JIS K 7136 is preferably between 1.5% and 3%, for example.

Abstract: Provided is a method for packing a cable having a static friction coefficient of 0.15 or more and 0.50 or less, a dynamic friction coefficient of 0.10 or more and 0.40 or less and a bending rigidity of 60 gf or more and 350 gf or less. The method includes the steps of: (1) winding the cable into a figure-of-eight shape to form a cylindrical cable bundle, (2) winding a wrapping film as a restraining member, which restrains the cable bundle, around an outer circumferential portion of the cable bundle, (3) winding a wrapping film as a closing member which closes openings on both ends of the cable bundle, and (4) housing the cable bundle being wound with the restraining member and the closing member in a housing container.

Abstract: This optical fiber cable is a central-core-type cable in which slotted rods are not used, and is composed of a core, a wrapper, a tension member, a ripcord, a sheath, and the like. The core is formed by twisting together a plurality of optical fiber units without back-twisting. The optical fiber units are formed by twisting together a plurality of intermittently-fixed optical fiber ribbons. A direction in which the optical fiber ribbons are twisted together is same as a direction in which the optical fiber units are twisted together.
