The device comprises a reflector having variable optical power; and a waveguide display assembly optically coupled to the reflector and having a light source. The waveguide display assembly is configured to guide light from the light source to transmit in a first direction towards the reflector for a first optical path, and in a second direction towards an eye-box of the device for a second optical path. The reflector is configured to reflect the light in the first direction towards the eye-box.

    摘要: A waveguide display includes a first waveguide, a second waveguide, a spacer between the first waveguide and the second waveguide, and a light redirecting or absorbing structure on at least one surface of the first waveguide and/or at least one surface of the second waveguide. The first waveguide includes a first grating configured to couple a first portion of display light into the first waveguide and towards a second grating of the first waveguide. The second waveguide includes a third grating aligned with the first grating and configured to couple a second portion of the display light into the second waveguide and towards a fourth grating of the second waveguide. The light redirecting or absorbing structure is configured to absorb or redirect incident light from a first angular range towards an edge of the waveguide display, without altering incident light from other angular ranges.
