Abstract: Locking device for locking the beads of a tire cover against the flanges of a wheel rim onto which said cover is fitted, said device comprising an annular structure attached around said rim, characterized in that said structure is lightened so that its weight is less than 10 kg and in that it includes, at least locally, means for stiffening it so as to increase its mechanical resistance to compressive forces exerted by said beads against said structure.
