The system comprises a base station (1), at least one indoor antenna (2) connected to the base station (1) providing coverage in an indoor coverage area and means for detecting human presence in a detection area. The base station (1) is configured to: receive (40) the information provided by the means for detecting human presence; check (42), according to said information, if human presence has been detected in the detection area, and in that case switch on (44) the base station (1); if human presence has not been detected in the detection area: check (45) if there is no traffic in the base station (1) during a predetermined period of time, and in that case switch off (46) the base station (1).

摘要: Multicarrier transmit diversity in UTRAN for HSPA, comprising a baseband unit and a remote radio unit of a Node B configured for receiving a data stream from an RNC and subsequently generating N encoded data streams and corresponding RF output signals for downlink transmission over N antennas; wherein the remote radio unit transmits the N (preferably two) RF output signals using transmission diversity over different carrier frequencies. The remote radio unit can transmit each STTD encoded data stream over different frequency carriers or transmit one STTD encoded data stream over a frequency carrier at frequency f1 and the second STTD encoded data stream over a different frequency carrier, at frequency f2. The baseband unit can also transmit, using MIMO baseband processing, the N MIMO data streams over different frequency carriers.

摘要: Method and RNC for selecting transmission technology when a UE enters the network, which checks whether the UE is MIMO and, if so and only one carrier is available, allocates its traffic to said carrier and uses a S-CPICH to provide all MIMO traffic with a diversity pilot and Virtual Antenna Mapping for balance. If more than one carrier is available, the number of UEs, their radio conditions and load of carriers are checked periodically. If the carrier is busy only with MIMO and its load is higher than the load of the remaining carriers, diversity CPICH of STTD is selected; otherwise and only if the UEs vulnerable to STTD with good radio conditions exceed a certain number, the S-CPICH is selected. The RNC can reconfigure the network from transmitting MIMO traffic with STTD to using MIMO with S-CPICH or vice versa dynamically by periodical check of the load and UEs criteria for configuration change.
