摘要： An electric motor driven portable air compressor consists of a reciprocating piston and cylinder arrangement with an intake throttling valve operative to unload the compressor above a predetermined pressure level. The throttling valve is a spring loaded plunger responsive to compressor output to close one of two inlet openings to reduce the charge of air in the cylinder. A stainless steel intake leaf spring is disposed between the cylinder and a two part die cast housing and is responsive to cylinder suction for control of the compressor.

摘要： Disclosed is a rear view mirror assembly of the antiglare, "day or night", type which is readily attachable, such as to the face of an existing rear view mirror in a motor vehicle.The mirror assembly comprises a mirror unit (26) operable between two angularly displaced reflective positions. A cam lever (24) comprising first and second cams (48, 54) cooperates with first and second cam followers (36, 38) to move the mirror unit between the two positions. The mirror assembly preferably includes adhesive strip means (22) to secure the assembly to a support. The cam followers are preferably located on the rear wall (40) of the mirror unit such that vertical movement of the cam lever pivots the mirror unit between the operable positions, one for day driving and one for night driving. This simple, vertical actuating movement minimizes forces tending to displace the mirror assembly from the support.

摘要： The mirror head of an outside rear view mirror is constituted by a mirror assembly mounted as a unit inside a housing having an upright front opening bounded by housing wall portions which converge in backward direction and, laterally, include a lower wall portion merging via an inner lower wall portion into an upwardly extending inner wall portion adapted to be positioned close to a window area of an automobile. The mirror assembly comprises a support bracket extending at an angle from a bracket foot portion mounted on the inner lower wall portion of the housing to a free end portion of the bracket which, through connections including a tensioned ball joint, holds a reflecting mirror plate securely yet adjustably positioned inside the housing opening. A head adaptor member fixed to the inner lower wall portion of the housing protrudes from it to a resettable connection with a mounting bracket to be fixed to the vehicle, as to a car door at the driver's seat, by which connection the angular position of the mirror head relative to the mounting bracket can be selected and set so as to position the mirror plate azimuthally as desired for the driver' s range of vision. The arrangement is adaptable to both left-side and right-side outside rear view mirrors.

摘要： A mounting for a rear view mirror comprises a bracket member to be fastened to a vehicle door or body surface, a coupling member joined with the bracket member so that the coupling member can be set about a horizontal axis for any desired angle of protrusion from the bracket member, and a mirror supporting arm connected with the coupling member and normally latched in a protruded viewing position but releasably latched so that the arm will be turned about a vertical axis and thus folded toward the vehicle under an abnormal force at its outer end, such as an impact against the supported mirror head. The mounting structure serves for a mirror installed on either side of a vehicle, reducing the hazards of outboard mirrors such as those required for trucks or trailers.

摘要： A replaceable wiper blade unit to be received within the claws of a windshield wiper blade holder includes a longitudinally hollow backing strip slotted along its bottom for receiving an elastic wiper blade, and having along its opposite sides laterally open channels defined between upper and lower lateral flange, with an especially formed and attached resilient metal clip on an end of the backing strip for fastening it detachably to a set of claws. The clip includes a base portion to underlie an end portion of the strip, two resilient legs extending forwardly from the base portion, each beneath a lower flange, an upturned ridge portion protruding from a forward portion of each leg into a respective channel through an opening in the lower flange, and side structures turned upwardly from opposite side edges of the base portion to provide a finger crimped over and upon each lower flange and a claw abutting finger in each channel. The ridge portion of each leg has a raked backward surface to hold a claw, and the legs have ledge portions along their outer edges for finger engagement to release engaged claws.

摘要： A liquid dispensing pump of the motor-driven flexible vane impeller type suitable for use in an automobile windshield washer system includes a housing that defines a motor chamber having a motor supporting end wall. A closure wall is fixed to the end wall and an impeller chamber having a peripheral surface is defined between the walls. An impeller is rotatable in the impeller chamber by a motor supported in the motor chamber, which has a shaft that extends through an opening in the end housing wall. Inlet and outlet passages respectively conduct liquid to and from the impeller chamber. This pump further comprises the improvement that the impeller chamber is constituted by confronting recesses, formed in the closure and end walls, that are circumferentially bounded by portions of the walls that have confronting surfaces meeting at a tight interface. The interface bounds the peripheral impeller chamber surface. In addition, the motor chamber is closed by a cover plate fastened to an end of the housing opposite the end wall. A spring is compressed between the cover plate and motor body to hold the motor body non-rotatably in working position against the end wall.

摘要： In a windshield wiper blade holder comprising pressure distributing claw yokes articulated to the ends of a primary yoke adapted to be coupled with a wiper arm, each claw yoke is a molded plastic body having between its arms an upwardly open coupling and bearing structure that is snappable onto mating structure on an end of the primary yoke and provides a highly durable pivotal connection yet can be produced in a simple two-part mold. As a further feature, the inner arm of each claw yoke is constituted by an upwardly open channel that receives a fitting, substantially rigid beam structure of the primary yoke and nests progressively farther with it, up to the arm end, as the wiper is moved over more steeply curved windshield surfaces, thus increasing the lateral stability of the blade holder; and the outer claw arm is formed oppositely as a downwardly open channel, enabling claw yokes having the required rigidity to be provided with molded wall sections of relatively little thickness and weight.
