Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for radio frequency coil units for magnetic resonance imaging. In one example, a radio frequency (RF) coil unit for magnetic resonance imaging (MM) includes an outer layer forming an exterior of the RF coil unit, a pressure reservoir enclosed by the outer layer, wherein the pressure reservoir forms a sealed chamber, and an array of RF coil elements enclosed by the outer layer, wherein the array of RF coil elements is disposed outside of the sealed chamber of the pressure reservoir.

Abstract: A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system includes an MRI scanner having a bore. The MRI system also includes a table including a cradle and a posterior radio frequency (RF) receiving coil array assembly integrated on a top surface of the cradle, wherein the table is configured to move a subject to be imaged disposed on the RF receiving coil array assembly into and out of the bore of the MRI scanner, and wherein the posterior RF receiving coil array assembly comprises a plurality of sections, each section of the plurality of sections includes an RF coil including a plurality of loops, and at least one section of the plurality of sections is configured to be manipulated into a bent position and to remain in the bent position without extraneous support.

Abstract: A PET-MRI apparatus includes a patient support assembly having a cradle to accommodate a subject, a carriage assembly to attach to the cradle and cause the cradle to selectively travel, and a rear bridge to receive the cradle and carriage. The patient support assembly also includes a front bridge to receive the cradle and carriage assembly and provide for translation therealong, with the front bridge including a first section and a second section that is spaced apart from the first section to form a gap in the front bridge between the first section and the second section in an area adjacent a PET detector array of the PET-MRI apparatus. The front and rear bridges include an anti-tip rail assembly to interact with the cradle and the carriage assembly so as to prevent tipping thereof when traversing over the gap between the first and second sections of the front bridge.
