    Abstract: Coffee beverage products are treated to reduce the level of bitterness perceived by the beverage consumer by producing coffee products which will yield beverages containing an effective amount of a food acid such as citric acid. Alternatively effective amounts of the food acid may be added to the coffee beverage itself.
