Abstract: A disc brake caliper including a valve mechanism communicating with an expansible chamber interposed between the piston and the caliper; the valve mechanism maintaining a residual pressure in the expansible chamber to limit the travel of the piston into the caliper housing following each brake release to compensate for wear and controlling further piston movement into the caliper upon relative movement of the disc and caliper during vehicle cornering.
