Abstract: An overcurrent protection assembly for an appliance includes a cabinet configured to house the appliance, the cabinet including a body and a door, the door movable between an open position and a closed position. The overcurrent protection assembly further includes an overcurrent protection circuit, the overcurrent protection circuit including a switch and a current limiter. The switch is alternatable between an engaged position when the door is in the open position and a disengaged position when the door is in the closed position. The current limiter is in electrical communication with the switch when the switch is in the disengaged position and not in electrical communication with the switch when the switch is in the engaged position. Electricity flowing through the overcurrent protection circuit to the appliance flows at a high current level when the switch is in the engaged position and at a low current level when the switch is in the disengaged position.

Abstract: In one aspect, a waste disposal for processing waste may generally include a housing and a motor disposed within the housing. The housing may define an inner sidewall surface extending around an inner perimeter of the housing and a discharge outlet. The motor may include a stator and a rotor at least partially surrounding the stator. The rotor may include a sidewall defining an outer surface. The motor may be disposed within the housing such that an annular gap is defined between the inner sidewall surface of the housing and the outer surface of the sidewall. When the rotor is rotated relative to the stator, water may be drawn through the annular gap towards the discharge outlet.

Abstract: An under-sink waste processing unit may generally include a housing defining an inlet and an outlet. The inlet may be configured to receive water and waste discharged from a waste disposal. The housing may also define a separation chamber in fluid communication with the inlet and a processing chamber separate from the separation chamber. The waste processing unit may also include a rotatable drive shaft extending within the separation chamber and a screw thread associated with the drive shaft. The screw thread may be configured to be rotated with the drive shaft within the separation chamber so as to at least partially separate the water from the waste received within the inlet. The separated waste may be configured to be dispersed from the separation chamber into the processing chamber for further processing thereof.

Abstract: A dispenser is provided having a nozzle that can direct light down a stream of liquid exiting therefrom. The nozzle includes one or more features to promote a substantially laminar flow of liquid therethrough. Abstract: In one aspect, a waste disposal for processing waste may generally include a motor defining a rotational axis, a cutter plate coupled to the motor for rotation therewith and a housing configured to encase the motor and the cutter plate. The housing may include an upper housing portion and a lower housing portion. The upper housing portion may define an inner surface at least partially forming a converging section of the upper housing portion. The upper housing portion may further define an inlet through the converging section. The inlet may be oriented relative to the housing such that water flowing through the inlet is directed into the housing at a non-radial flow angle. In addition, the inner surface may define a curved profile such that a grind chamber of the housing is substantially dome-shaped along the converging section.
