Abstract:
A seat assembly includes a seat bottom, a seat back, and a head restraint. The seat back is connected to the seat bottom and is configured to pivot relative to the seat bottom between an unfolded position and a folded position. The head restraint is connected to the seat back and is configured to pivot relative to the seat back between an unfolded position and a folded position. The head restraint is configured to automatically pivot from its folded position to its unfolded position when the seat back pivots from its folded position to its unfolded position.
Abstract:
A seat of a vehicle is mounted to a first rotatable plate that is mounted to a floor of the vehicle within a passenger compartment of the vehicle. An airbag module: includes an airbag and a deployment device that deploys the airbag; and is mounted to a second rotatable plate mounted to a roof of the vehicle above the seat. An electric motor is configured to rotate the second rotatable plate. A restraint control module is configured to, based on a rotational position of the first rotatable plate, apply power to the electric motor and rotate the second rotatable plate.
Abstract:
A system includes a climate control module and a thermal device control module. The climate control module, based on at least one of a user input and a first input from a temperature sensor that measures a temperature of a seat of a vehicle, generates one of (i) a heating command signal indicating an instruction to heat the seat and (ii) a cooling command signal indicating an instruction to cool the seat. The thermal device control module, in response to one of the heating command signal and the cooling command signal, controls at least one of a blower and at least one TED to one of heat and cool the seat based on a second input from at least one sensor that measures at least one of a pressure applied to the seat, a force applied to the seat, and a strain within the seat.
Abstract:
A seat assembly includes a lower rail track configured for attachment to a floor of the vehicle. An upper rail track is coupled to the lower rail track. A seat riser is attached to the upper rail track. A seat cushion and a seat back are each coupled to and supported by the seat riser. A seatbelt is attached to the seat riser. The seatbelt is operable to transfer a tensile force to the seat riser. An energy absorber interconnects the upper rail track and seat riser. The energy absorber is operable to reduce energy transfer between the seat riser and the upper rail track in response to the seatbelt applying the tensile force to the seat riser.

Abstract:
A vehicle seat assembly adjacent a vehicle body panel includes a vehicle seat that has a seat bottom and a seat back pivotable with respect to the seat bottom. The vehicle seat assembly includes a striker assembly with a fixed striker fixed to the vehicle body panel, and a pivotable striker pivotably supported on the fixed striker. The pivotable striker is pivotable between a first position in which the pivotable striker extends further than the fixed striker toward the seat back, and a second position in which the fixed striker extends further than the pivotable striker toward the seat back. A latching mechanism fixed to the seat back latches to the pivotable striker when the pivotable striker is in the first position, and latches to the fixed striker when the pivotable striker is in the second position.
