    Abstract: In a system and method providing for interaction with virtual objects, and interaction between virtual objects, in an augmented reality, or mixed reality, or virtual reality, environment, detected conditions may trigger animated responses from virtual objects placed in a view of a physical environment. The detected conditions may include the detection of a user within a set threshold distance or proximity, the detection of another virtual object within a set threshold placement distance or proximity, the detection of particular environmental conditions in the view of the physical environment, and other such factors. Specific behavioral animations of the virtual objects may be triggered in response to detection of specific virtual objects and/or other conditions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for navigating a user interface with a toolbar are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: causing a toolbar containing selectable options to be presented concurrently with media content items, wherein each of the selectable options corresponds to a category of media content and is associated with a textual item and a graphical item that relate to the category of media content being presented with that selectable option; determining that a first selectable option from the selectable options has been selected; modifying the toolbar by causing a first animation to be displayed that replaces the textual item with the graphical item associated with the first selectable option, wherein each of the remaining selectable options continue to be represented with the corresponding textual item; determining that a second selectable option from the selectable options has been selected; and modifying the toolbar by causing a second animation to be displayed that replaces the textual item with the graphical item associated with the second selectable option and a third animation to be displayed that replaces the graphical item with the textual item associated with the first selectable option.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for identification and retrieval of content for visual search are provided. An example method includes receiving data specifying a digital supplement. The data may identify a digital supplement and a supplement anchor for associating the digital supplement with visual content. The method may also include generating a data structure instance that specifies the digital supplement and the supplement anchor and, after generating the data structure instance, enabling triggering of the digital supplement by an image based at least on storing the data structure instance in a database that includes a plurality of other data structure instances. The other data structure instances may each specify a digital supplement and one or more supplement anchors.

    Abstract: Described herein is a method for managing media item playback. A method includes presenting a media player in a first portion of a user interface (UI) provided by a first application on a screen of a user device, the media player to provide playback of a first media item from a first post of a plurality of posts of the first application. The method also includes relocating the media player to a second portion of the UI while continuing to provide playback of the first media item by the relocated media player, and receiving a user gesture to scroll through the plurality of posts of the first application on the screen of the user device, the plurality of posts comprising a second post having a second media item. The method further includes upon receiving the user gesture to scroll through the plurality of posts of the first application, allowing a user to view the second media item in the second post while continuing to provide playback of the first media item by the relocated media player, receiving a user request to perform an activity that is enabled by a second application and is independent of the viewing of the first media item or the second media item, and continuing to provide playback of the first media item in the relocated media player while content associated with the requested activity is being presented to the user on the screen of the user device.
