Abstract: A watch system may include a watchband including a flexible member configured to be mounted onto a wrist of a user, and a puck including watch functionality. The watchband may have an end that has a concave curved shape. The puck may have a connection interface that has a convex curved shape. The connection interface may be to be removably coupled to the end of the watchband. The watchband and the puck may have corresponding locking features that are configured to rotationally and translationally fix the puck to the watchband. The corresponding locking features may be configured to be engaged when the watchband is translated relative to the puck and rotated relative to the puck by a predetermined rotation angle.

Abstract: An antenna is provided for a wearable personal computing device, such as an earbud. The antenna integrates with other components of the wearable device, such as an input control. For example, the antenna may at least partially surround a portion of a touchpad input at a surface of the device that is exposed when the device is worn. In one example, the antenna shares a ground plane with the touchpad. In another example, the antenna includes two nested traces, wherein a first trace is connected to ground and a second trace is connected to an antenna feed.

Abstract: An augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) system employs a tracking system for tracking one or more components of the AR/VR system using a generated electromagnetic (EM) field. The tracking system employs an EM coil for generating the EM field or, alternatively, sensing the EM field. The EM coil includes a core substrate and thin metal foil wrapped around the core substrate in three orthogonal axes. The EM coil is effectively “hollow” in that it weighs less than a conventional solid ferrite or ferrous core of comparable dimensions, either through the use of one or more openings formed in the core substrate, the use of a material less dense than ferrite or ferrous materials, the formation of the core substrate as a hollow framework, or a combination thereof. The resulting EM coil thus weighs less than conventional solid-core EM coils, thereby reducing user fatigue and the possibility of misalignment of the EM coil as a result from a drop impact of the device implementing the EM coil.
