摘要： In an image processing apparatus, such as a digital color/monochromatic copying machine, for reading a color image or a monochromatic image and producing a copy image thereof, an image process section is composed of an arithmetic section which is programmed and operated by software, or image process programs. The image process programs are input from outside via an external interface and loaded in an external RAM. On the basis of input information from an operation panel, an optimal image process program is read out of the external RAM and loaded in an instruction RAM. The arithmetic section executes the image process program in the instruction RAM.

摘要： For an image signal having density equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold value, this invention realizes stable reproduction by reducing intermediate transition regions by increasing the intervals between pixels in the pixel arrangement of a non-image portion. For an image density signal whose density is smaller than the threshold value, the invention uses half-tone processing with higher resolution to thereby improve the image quality. This improves the reproducibility of pixel structures such as dots and line patterns at high densities, improves the stability of tone reproduction against environments, and improves the image quality.

摘要： A multi-function image processing apparatus includes a system control unit that receives an image processing job sent over a network by a requesting device, and that controls operation of the image processing apparatus. The apparatus includes an image recording unit that performs a printing operation. The apparatus also includes a scanner that scans data provided to the apparatus. The apparatus further includes an image processing unit that receives scan data from the scanner, that performs image processing on the scan data, and that outputs image-processed scan data to the image recording unit for printing of the image-processed scan data. The apparatus also includes an interface unit that transfers image data between the image processing unit and the system control unit in at least one mode of operation of the image processing apparatus. The image processing unit includes a first FIFO and a second FIFO for bypassing the interface unit under certain situations.

摘要： An image producing section produces a character or pattern image indicative of the input conditions of a color scanner section. The input conditions include data on the resolution, the sampling rate, etc. An image synthesis section synthesizes the produced image with an image scanned by the color scanner section and subjected to predetermined image processing. The resultant synthesized image is printed out by a color printer section. The operating conditions, such as the image input conditions, are clear from the character or pattern image printed out as part of the synthesized image.

摘要： A system and method for reproducing original documents includes scanning an original document to generate image data corresponding to the scanned original document, dividing the image data into a plurality of image data blocks, and compressing the plurality of image data blocks into respective compressed image data blocks, such that data of each compressed image data block is independent of data of each other compressed image data block. Each compressed image data block is stored in a first memory with a respective predetermined beginning address. The first compressed image data block, having a first predetermined beginning address, is accessed from the first memory and decompressed into a first decompressed image data block. At least one image processing function is performed on the decompressed first image data block.
