摘要： An electrical connector is provided including matable first and second housings configured to receive electrical contacts. The electrical connector assembly includes a lever member having a cam arm engaging the first and second housing to connect the first and second housings to join corresponding electrical contacts. The first housing has a latch assembly engaging the lever member when the lever member is in a final engaged position. The first housing has a locking member that holds the cam arm in an insertion position. The first housing has a wire shield with feet and a tab that is retained in slots and a catch on the first housing. The electrical contacts have retention features that are retained in an encapsulate in a chamber abutting the second housing.

摘要： An electrical connector assembly includes a plug assembly for mating with a header. The plug assembly includes a plug housing and a lever, where the lever includes gear teeth which cooperate with a tooth on the header in a rack and pinion fashion. The lever is locked to the plug housing when the lever is poised for the plug housing to be inserted into the header. A release member on the header releases the lever from the locked position allowing the lever to be rotated to the position where the lever gear teeth mesh with the header tooth, to draw the plug assembly into the header. A cam on the lever also contacts a contact surface in the header, which pre-lifts the plug assembly during disconnection.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a first housing having a first set of electrical contacts and a second housing having a second set of electrical contacts. The first and second housing are configured to be matable with one another to mate the first set of contacts with the second set of contacts. The first and second housings are movable between an initial position wherein the first and second sets of electrical contacts are unmated and a final position wherein the respective first and second sets of electrical contacts are fully mated. A lever member is rotatably mounted to the first housing and configured to engage the second housing when rotated. The lever member is configured to move the first and second housings between the initial and final positions as the lever member is rotated when the lever and the second housing are initially aligned. The lever member includes at least one blocking beam configured to separate the first and second housings as the lever member is rotated when the lever member and the second housing are initially misaligned.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a housing having a plurality of terminal passages. Each terminal passage has a deflectable latch for securing the terminal within the passage and is configured to permit an electrical terminal to be inserted into the passage. Openings are provided proximate the deflectable latches, with each opening extending from a first terminal passage of the plurality of terminal passages to an adjacent second terminal passage. Projections extend from side surfaces of the terminal passages, with at least one projection extending into each terminal passage. At least one projection is positioned to cooperate with a side surface of a respective deflectable latch to prevent the deflectable latch from being overstressed. The openings and the projections allow the terminal passages to be closely spaced thereby reducing the size of the connector while providing overstress protection for the deflectable latches.
