摘要: A vehicle or powertrain management system include a diagnostic system. The diagnostic system includes a first module that is configured to communicate with a vehicle network and a second module that is configured to communicate with the first module. The first module includes operating instructions that define a set of access rules and the second module includes a set of diagnostic instructions. The second module, when executing the diagnostic instructions, makes one or more data requests that are communicated from the second module to the first module, and the first module is configured to permit permissible data requests to be communicated through the vehicle network to one or more of the plurality of ECUs and to prevent impermissible requests from being communicated through the vehicle network to one or more of the plurality of ECUs.
