摘要: A controller for controlling operation of an aftertreatment system that is configured to treat constituents of an exhaust gas produced by an engine, the aftertreatment system including a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst, the controller configured to: generate a short-term cumulative degradation estimate of the SCR catalyst corresponding to reversible degradation of the SCR catalyst due to sulfur and/or hydrocarbons based on a SCR catalyst temperature parameter; generate a long-term cumulative degradation estimate of the SCR catalyst corresponding to thermal aging of the SCR catalyst based on the SCR catalyst temperature parameter; generate a combined degradation estimate of the SCR catalyst based on the short-term cumulative degradation estimate and the long-term cumulative degradation estimate; and adjust an amount of reductant and/or an amount of hydrocarbons inserted into the aftertreatment system based on the combined degradation estimate of the SCR catalyst.

摘要: Methods and system are provided to heat a catalyst of an after-treatment system for a vehicle. The after-treatment system comprises a heating module having a plurality of heating elements. Each of the plurality of heating elements is independently operable to provide thermal energy to the catalyst of the after-treatment system. One or more of the heating elements of the heating module are selectively operated to provide heat to the catalyst based on an operational parameter of the after-treatment system.

摘要: A method for monitoring a secondary airflow (SAIR) system in an engine includes determining degradation of the SAIR system adding a SAIR to downstream of an engine cylinder exhaust based on a comparison of the SAIR before and after a shutdown of a SAIR pump, the SAIR calculated from a fuel injection amount, an exhaust air-fuel ratio, and an engine intake airflow. In this way, SAIR at the exhaust manifold can be monitored utilizing existing onboard sensors and technology, thereby maintaining OBD and emissions monitoring, reducing engine emissions, and maintaining costs.

摘要: An aftertreatment system configured to reduce constituents of an exhaust gas produced by an engine comprises an aftertreatment component and an optical assembly. The optical assembly comprises an optical emitter configured to emit light onto a face of the aftertreatment component, and an optical detector configured to detect light reflected from the face of the aftertreatment component. A controller is configured to determine at least one of an amount of NOx gases or an amount of ammonia on the face of the aftertreatment component based on an optical parameter of the detected light that has reflected from the face of the aftertreatment component.

摘要: A control apparatus is applied to an internal combustion engine where an EHC and a filter are arranged in this sequence from an upstream side. The control apparatus performs a regeneration process for removing particulate matter deposited in the filter through oxidation, and a recovery process for raising the temperature of exhaust gas to a temperature higher than in the case of the regeneration process and removing the particulate matter deposited at a front end portion of the EHC through oxidation when it is determined that the insulation resistance of the EHC is equal to or lower than a prescribed value. The control apparatus performs the regeneration process and then the recovery process when it is determined that the insulation resistance is equal to or lower than the prescribed value and the deposition amount of the particulate matter in the filter is equal to or larger than a prescribed amount.

摘要: A controller for a hybrid electric vehicle includes processing circuitry configured to execute a manual filter regeneration process when satisfying a condition including that execution of the manual filter regeneration process is requested to decrease a PM deposit amount on the filter and that the hybrid electric vehicle is in a stopped state. In the manual filter regeneration process, when a state of charge of the battery becomes less than a discharge threshold value, an output of an internal combustion engine is converted to electric power for charging the battery while the filter is supplied with oxygen from the engine. Further, when the state of charge of the battery becomes greater than or equal to a charge threshold value that is greater than or equal to the discharge threshold value, an output shaft of the engine is rotated with the motor to supply the filter with oxygen from the engine.

The feeding channel is delimited, on the outside, by an outer tubular body. The fuel injector is configured to spray at least part of the fuel against the outer tubular body, which has a through opening, through which a spray tip of the fuel injector letting out the fuel directly aims at the electrodes of the spark plug.

摘要: A heating system includes at least one electric heater disposed within a fluid flow system and a control device that is configured to determine a temperature of the at least one electric heater based on a model, at least one fluid flow system input, and at least one heater input. The at least one heater input includes at least one physical characteristic of the heating system, the at least one physical characteristic includes at least one of a resistance wire diameter, a heater insulation thickness, a heater sheath thickness, a conductivity, a specific heat and density of the material of the heater, an emissivity of the heater and the fluid flow pathway, and combinations thereof. The control device is configured to provide power to the at least one electric heater based on the temperature of the at least one electric heater.

摘要: The present invention is applied to an exhaust system provided with a three-way catalyst and a NOx catalyst which are provided in an exhaust passage of an engine and to which sulfur components in exhaust adhere and release the attached sulfur components by rich components in exhaust, and NOx sensors provided downstream of the catalysts. The NOx sensor is a limiting current type sensor. It is determined whether a sulfur release state is present in which a sulfur component is released from the three-way catalyst and the NOx catalyst. When it is determined that it is in the state of sulfur release, reaction suppression processing for suppressing the reaction between oxygen and sulfur components in the pump cell electrodes and the monitor cell electrodes of the NOx sensors is performed.
