A reticle of a projectile weapon aiming system such as a riflescope includes a primary aiming mark adapted to be sighted-in at a first selected range and further includes a plurality of secondary aiming marks spaced apart below the primary aiming mark. The secondary aiming marks are positioned to compensate for ballistic drop at preselected incremental ranges beyond the first selected range, for a selected group of ammunition having similar ballistic characteristics. Angles subtended by adjacent aiming marks of the reticle can be adjusted by changing the optical power of the riflescope, to thereby compensate for ballistic characteristics of different ammunition. In some embodiments, the reticle includes a set of windage aiming marks spaced apart along at least one secondary horizontal axis intersecting a selected one of the secondary aiming marks, to facilitate compensation for the effect of crosswinds on the trajectory of the projectile.

In a print head for ink jet printing a nozzle plate with a nozzle array is gold plated. The gold plated nozzle array is bonded to the polymer ink barrier layer on an electronic chip by a thin layer of tantalum, zirconium, titanium or silicon dioxide. The thin layer greatly increases the ability of the surface to bond chemically to the polymer.

There is provided a head immobilizer of the type which can be attached to a rigid backboard support, with the head immobilizer including a base and a pair of laterally extending side support panels. Each of these side support panels further comprises an inner panel and an outer panel, with the inner panel being conformable appropriately to a shape necessary to snugly support a head to be immobilized. The inner panel also includes an opening which effectively divides a portion of that inner panel into a pair of spaced inner support members extending laterally from the base. The outer panel has inner and outer edges, and is hingedly attached adjacent its inner edge to the inner panel such that it is foldable relative the inner panel to provide a substantially rigid brace for securing the inner panel in a desired immobilizing position. The outer panel also includes a cutout portion for providing substantial access to the opening of the inner panel when the inner panel is braced in a desired immobilizing position. The outer panel can be secured in a bracing position relative the inner panel, and the outer panel includes an attachment panel hingedly attached adjacent its outer edge for securing the outer panel in bracing position adjacent the base.

A restraint stretcher comprising an envelope for receiving a rigidifying backboard, and having transverse straps for encircling the body of a patient at specific areas, the straps being mounted for longitudinal movement to fit various sizes of patient. The transverse straps and their anchorage brackets are readily individually removable for cleaning or replacement. The anchorage points can be located on the upper side of the stretcher for immobilizing smaller patients, or on the underside for immobilizing larger or adult patients. The stretcher is padded for patient comfort and includes laterally or outwardly projecting handles for transportation of the stretcher. A harness is provided to constrain the patient against longitudinal movement.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of printing to a tangible medium provide for reducing ink penetration via the controlled selection of halftone patterns. One method includes steps of printing to the tangible medium (e.g., via a multicolor ink supply such as CMYK) using a plurality of initial halftone patterns, measuring ink absorption of the tangible medium in response to printing to the tangible medium, and determining a subset of the plurality of initial halftone patterns based on the absorption measurement. The method also includes printing a print job to the tangible medium based on the subset of the plurality of initial halftone patterns. For example, a print controller may be reprogrammed with the subset of the plurality of initial halftone patterns to print a print job to reduce the amount of ink applied to the tangible medium.
