    摘要: A compound bow includes improved cam members eccentrically mounted upon the bow limb tips and including a bowstring segment adjacent a tension cable segment. The bowstring segment is provided with a main body section having a curved lever section extending outwardly therefrom. A groove or track is formed in the periphery of the curved lever section while a parallel groove or track is provided in the outer periphery of the tension cable segment. A bowstring end is disposed within each lever section track while each tension cable segment track receives the cam end of a tension cable. Adjustable or replaceable elements allow for the ready synchronization of the two cam members as well as variation of the bow draw weight. The two cam segments may be constructed either as a unitary member or as separate, angularly adjustable components.

    摘要: The ends of a compound bow tension cable are positively and adjustably anchored by an attachment bracket pivotally mounted upon the bow limb tips adjacent the eccentric wheels. The attachment bracket includes two somewhat similar components, elongated in nature, with one component pivotally attached relative the bow limb tip and the other component having a tension cable end fixed thereto. The two components are assembled in an overlapping arrangement with the juxtaposed faces thereof provided with mating adjustment elements such as transversely disposed teeth or serrations whereupon after selecting the appropriate relative longitudinal relationship between the two components, a releasable fastener is tightened to retain the mating adjustment elements in a fixed disposition insuring a rigid bracket member maintaining the selected tension upon the attached cable end.

    摘要: A compound bow includes a pair of improved pivotally mounted cam assemblies having separate, specification profiled string cable segments and power cable segments constructed and arranged to produce a draw force curve representing a greater area of stored energy than that obtained with most existing compound bows. The draw length of the bow, among other parameters, is readily altered without compressing and dismantling the bow cable components by removing and replacing differently configured draw length cam modules associated with the power cable segments. Attachment and subsequent turning of each of the timing, string and power cables is easily accomplished by means of cable adjusters carried by each cam assembly.

    摘要: An adjustable arrangement for anchoring the ends of each tension cable in a compound bow includes a displaceable disc cradled in a bridle cable suspended from each bow limb tip. Each disc is provided with a plurality of holes, slots or notches variably spaced from the center of the disc such that the distal portion of a tension cable may be selectively anchored in any one hole, slot or notch thereby allowing tuning of each bow limb by the alternate positioning of the anchored portions of the two tension cables in the respective discs. The slidable, captive engagement between the disc periphery and bridle cable automatically insures maintenance of each tension cable end within a plane passing through the bow centerline.

    摘要: A crossbow includes a trigger mechanism providing positive setting or cocking and release of a drawn bowstring. As the bowstring is drawn, it is pulled rearwardly into a trigger assembly slot to momentarily rearwardly deflect and ride over a spring-urged string catch member. Deflection of the catch member in turn urges displacement of a safety element into locking engagement with a pivotal sear. A nose on the locked sear normally abuts the catch member to preclude its release of a bowstring cocked therebehind. Following manual displacement of the safety to an off position, squeezing of a trigger pivotally moves the sear nose clear of the catch member to permit the cocked bowstring to forwardly deflect and pass over the catch member as the bowstring leaves the trigger assembly and propels an arrow engaged thereby.

A single cable groove or track extends continuously around the entire periphery of each cam and is disposed in a single vertical plane such that any stretch of cable extending between the tracks of the two cams will be substantially aligned with the bow center line. A single continuous cable stretch, having its opposite ends respectively joined to a bowstring and a tension cable, is sheaved about the track of each cam and is adjustably anchored thereto by means of a removable, lockable, rotating keeper whereby fine adjustment of the bow may be achieved without disassembly or removal of any cable lengths from the bow cams. The improved cam members may be employed not only in two-wheel compound bows but also in four and six wheel models.
