An optical pick-up device according to the present invention is mounted to a recording and/or reproducing apparatus in which an optical recording medium is employed as a recording medium to write and/or read out information signals on the optical recording medium. By disposing a light-emitting and receiving unit such that the surface of the rectangular substrate is inclined relative to the optical axis of the objective lens, the recording and/or reproducing apparatus having a small thickness can be obtained. Additionally, a first light path-changing member is disposed underneath the objective lens along the optical axis thereof, and a second light path-changing member is provided for changing the light path of the light beam emitted from a light-emitting element such that the optical axis thereof is deflected in the direction normal to an optical axis of the light beam passing between the objective lens and the first light path-changing member such that the light-emitting and receiving unit and the second light path-changing member is disposed in the proximity of a peripheral portion of the objective lens whereby a compactness of the optical pick-up device can be achieved.

A disk chucking device for use in a disk player, in which the supporting shafts of clamping members are held in holding portions of a hinge provided on the top-surface side of a turntable in such a manner as to be coaxial with a cylinder and to slide along therewith, so that each of the supporting shafts is in opposed contact with the inner side surface of a center boss and a corresponding cam provided thereabove. Moreover, the clamping members, each of which has a chuck end portion formed on the top end thereof, are adapted to be able to vertically slide and radially swing. The clamping members are pushed by first and second spring members in the downward direction and in the direction of the outer circumference of a disk. When a disk installed in the device is detached therefrom, the clamping members are raised. Pins attached to the clamping members abut against the cams provided in the center boss. Then, the clamping members are inwardly tilted. Thus, the disk is detached from the device. Subsequently, the clamping members automatically return to initial positions thereof.

An optical pickup comprises a slide member displaced between an inner periphery of an information recording medium and an outer periphery thereof, a laser-beam receiving and emitting device comprised of an emitting unit for irradiating the information recording medium with a laser beam and a receiving unit for receiving therein a laser beam reflected from the information recording medium, a first laser-beam receiving and emitting device holding means rotated so as to approximately linearly move with a position different from an optical axis of the laser beam as a fulcrum to thereby position and hold the laser-beam receiving and emitting device, and a second laser-beam receiving and emitting device holding means rotated with the optical axis thereof as a fulcrum to thereby position and hold the laser-beam receiving and emitting device. According to the above construction the use of, two types of slide members become unnecessary and the position of the slide member can be easily adjusted.
