    摘要: An anchor assembly may be used for interconnecting a downhole tubular member with a packer affixed within a well bore. The anchor assembly may include a mandrel fixedly secured to production tubing, and a collet mechanism axially movable relative to the mandrel. The collet mechanism may have a plurality of axially extending collet fingers each having a first plurality of threads for mating engagement with the packer mandrel threads and a second plurality of threads for mating engagement with the anchor assembly mandrel threads. A sealed member is provided for sealing engagement between the mandrel and the downhole packer. The anchor assembly of the present invention allows substantial axial forces to be transmitted between the production tubing and the set packer without risking collapse of the packer mandrel or failure of the bearing surfaces between the production tubing mandrel and the collet mechanism.

    摘要: An improved setting tool is provided for positioning, setting, and releasing a liner in a subterranean wellbore. The setting tool includes a plurality of fingers, each biased for locking engagement with axially spaced recesses provided in the wall of the tool mandrel axially above a lowermost position of the liner hanger connecting nut. The fingers are automatically forced upward into a release position when interference rollers move radially out of their respective recesses and separate a plurality of axially movable sleeves. Premature release of the liner is avoided by positioning the recesses in the mandrel such that the fingers are in a lock position when the tool string is either in tension or compression. The liner can be rotated after setting the liner hanger, so that the setting tool and drill string can thereafter be reliably retrieved by simple axial pick-up.

    摘要: A hanger for suspending a liner in a cased subterranean well comprises an elongated tubular body having ramp elements formed on its exterior and a plurality of peripherally spaced slip elements secured to a sleeve piston surrounding the lower end of the tubular body. Seals provided intermediate the piston and the tubular body define a first fluid pressure chamber. A clean fluid is supplied to the first pressure chamber through an axially extending passageway of restricted diameter provided in the wall of the tubular body and having an opening at its bottom end communicating with the first pressure chamber and at its top end communicating with a second pressure chamber defined by a tubing carried run-in tool detachably engaged with the liner hanger. The two pressure chambers and the restricted diameter passage are filled with clean fluid at the surface and pressure is applied to the clean fluid through an isolating piston mounted in the second fluid pressure chamber and actuated by non-clean fluids supplied through the tubular string upon which the run-in tool is suspended.

    摘要: A liner hanger assembly is disclosed for setting within a casing conduit and carrying a liner string therebelow. The assembly has slip elements for gripping the casing with each of the slip elements having symmetrically angled teeth such that only one set of slips may be used to anchor the hanger and liner in position against relative longitudinal movement in either direction subsequent to setting. The apparatus is hydraulically settable and provides for application of workstring load to the apparatus to direct additional load in excess of that required to set the slips in anchoring engagement. The housing of the apparatus and the liner therebelow also may be rotated by the tubular workstring subsequent to setting without effecting rotational movement of the slip elements.
