Abstract: A pixel array for an image sensor includes a plurality of pixels arranged in an array. The plurality of pixels are configured to be read out according to a random pattern such that non-adjacent pixels from a plurality of physical lines in the array are read out concurrently. An imaging system includes at least the pixel array and a descrambling unit. The descrambling unit is configured to descramble pixel information read out from the pixel array.
