摘要: Provided is an imaging device including row drive unit having a first storage unit that stores and outputs a first signal for a readout from the pixels on an associated row, a second storage unit that stores and outputs a second signal for an operation for causing the photoelectric conversion element on an associated row to be reset to a charge accumulation state, and a third storage unit that stores and outputs a third signal for maintaining the photoelectric conversion element on an associated row in a charge accumulation state or a reset state based on the first signal output from the first storage unit and the second signal output from the second storage unit.

摘要: An imaging system with a light source controls the sensitivity of pixels to light, by performing both superpixel modulation and curtain modulation. The superpixel modulation may facilitate rapid data acquisition. The curtain modulation may suppress the effect of ambient light. In superpixel modulation, each pixel set may be modulated by a separate superpixel modulation signal that causes sensitivity of the pixel set to light to vary over time, and each superpixel may include a pixel from each pixel set. The curtain modulation may cause pixels in only a small region of the photodetector to be sensitive to light. The curtain modulation may cause the small region to move to track the dot of light, by changing which pixels are in the region. This invention may be used for 3D scanning.

摘要: A camera array, an imaging device and/or a method for capturing image that employ a plurality of imagers fabricated on a substrate is provided. Each imager includes a plurality of pixels. The plurality of imagers include a first imager having a first imaging characteristics and a second imager having a second imaging characteristics. The images generated by the plurality of imagers are processed to obtain an enhanced image compared to images captured by the imagers. Each imager may be associated with an optical element fabricated using a wafer level optics (WLO) technology.

摘要: The present invention is related to an image sensor and to a method for operating such sensor. The sensor of the invention comprises a pair of butted sensor tiles, each sensor tile comprising a pixel array comprising a plurality of rows and columns of photosensitive pixels.By constructing first row groups using at least one imaginary row, a different center-to-center distance exists between the different row groups than that which is obtained in prior art devices. More in particular, the construction according to the present invention allows the center positions of the rows to lie on a regular grid thereby lowering the geometrical distortion of the resulting image.

摘要: A circuit for reading a pixel matrix array comprises, for each column of pixels of the matrix array: voltage-to-delay converting circuits receiving, on an input, a voltage value representative of the voltage of a read conductor of a respective column of pixels of the matrix array and delivering as output a binary signal called a comparative signal, this signal switched at a time dependent on the input voltage value; frequency-multiplying circuits, one for each of the voltage-to-delay converting circuits, receiving as input a primary clock signal and delivering as output secondary clock signals of multiplied frequency; and binary counters, receiving, on a first input, a the secondary clock signal, and, on a second input, a the binary comparative signal and counting at a rate dictated by the secondary clock signal until the binary comparative signal switches. An image sensor comprising a matrix array of pixels, in particular active pixels, and a read circuit is also provided.
