Abstract: A user interface (UI) device for a premises management system may include at least one proximity sensor, a first interface component configured to illuminate in a first illumination style based on a first rule set when an individual is detected within a first range by the at least one proximity sensor, and a second interface component to receive input from the individual and configured to illuminate in a second illumination style based on a second rule set different from the first rule set when the individual is detected within a second range closer to the UI device than the first range.
